Intelligent tutors and chatbots in virtual reality (VR) are transforming language learning by enhancing communicative and meta-affective skills. These technologies serve as virtual tutors in various educational contexts, including programming and second language learning. They support self-assessment and help reduce discrepancies in learner models, increasing the effectiveness of the learning process.
These chatbots, equipped with the ability to understand natural language and learn from interactions, are increasingly being integrated into e-learning platforms. They are personalized to exhibit emotional and cognitive understanding, enabling persistent and relational interactions in collaborative, social, or learning systems.
The impact of intelligent tutors and chatbots in VR on language learning is significant. They offer interactive, engaging, and personalized experiences, making them a valuable tool in contemporary education. However, their effectiveness varies with the learners' language proficiency, and challenges remain in their broader application and user engagement. The use of these technologies represents a significant step forward in the evolution of educational tools, offering a more dynamic and tailored learning experience.
