I wasn't going to say anything as for the most part I was learning from you, BUT you did ask for advice at the end LOL so; I worked for a torque tools manufacturing company (Norbar) and they drilled into us that clicking multiple times on the torque wrench actually increases the torque every time due to the function of the torque breaking device - every time it clicks beyond the first one is increasing the torque. They showed us this on a torque measuring device with a normal click style wrench and its interesting to see how much it goes up - its a bit like an impact hammering action. So to get the correct torque you should click it once and trust it or, if you really must, a second click only, no more. And if you are doing a bolt circle best practice is to click once only first time around, and then give each bolt just one second click to double check nothing was seated oddly the first time round. Cheers for the help you have given me!

This was a great help, and avoided me starting the job without the torx bit and a long m10 bolt, and saved a lot of head scratching! I needed to use a second bolt to get my disc off on ond side, the side where the disc was fractured thru the cooling fins....! Another tip, gas bottle spanners are 21mm on the smaller end in UK, as I didn't have a 21mm apart from that one :)

Thank you for your support ken, i own a 2013 limited 130 i couldn't be happier with it, i was advised to stay away from the 150 model when i bought mine as they have more problems, but it is the same engine just tuned up more so i can't see a problem. I Guess its more on the driver. Know i do know the newer ad blue engine (new shape) is having a lot of issues so i would stay clear of them. Hope this helps

Mine warped due to being worn thin. Only advice I can give is use a good make disks, I use apec or mintex, most factors offer a cheep or premium brand and garages tend to use the cheep to keep cost down. Thank you for watching.

One more question Marty. I see videos where people when pushing the caliper pistons back they open the bleeding nipple which is connected with a little pipe to a plastic container. What do you think about that? I am concerned that opening the bleeding valve you can get air in the sistem. Thanks for your advice.
@Martysworkshop
@Martysworkshop 5 ай бұрын
I have never done it tbh, I just push the pistons back with a screwdriver. I would also be concerned of air getting in the system just to make it easier to push the pistons back.

Hi, Just wondering whether you need to add the 90 degree angle after torquing the bearing to disc bolts as they are not new stretch bolts. I thought the final angle on the bolts is for the stretch. Would a bit of medium strength thread lock be suitable with the 30nm torque on the bolts ? Cheers
@Martysworkshop
@Martysworkshop 8 ай бұрын
Your wrigh as the bolts won't stretch the same the second time but 30nm is nowhere near tight enough for thease hubs a simple rule for stretch bolts is if you can run a nut down the thread with your fingers then they are good to use again. Hope this helps

@Martysworkshop
@Martysworkshop 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you craig, the transit customs only come in front wheel drive but the larger transit couriers and previous model transit in rear wheel drive is the same setup to my knowledge but instead of a driveshaft you would have a dummy shaft in its place.
