This video comes right in time as I've been working this project of finding the lift in the spine in as many poses as I can, with an eye on fuller expression in backbends like ustrasana and urdhva dhanurasana. Recently I've been focusing on upward facing dog to find that lift in each vinyasa. The props + the concepts really help.

Thank you! What muscles do you use to keep your hips off the ground during the transition? when i go from chaturanga to upward facing dog my hips always fall to the floor.

My guess would be some quad activation for you so you use your legs as thrusters for your hips moving forward.
