One of my favorite non-English books is "We" by E. Zamyatin. It was assigned in a SF Lit course I took in college. It's a bit older than the one's you listed, so I don't know whether you'd be interested, but I recommend it anyway. Plus, it's 92% off (!!!) right now on Kindle....Oh, and yes...Three Body Problem is superb.

When you get to The Memory Police, go into with the right expectations: the focus is not on the dystopian/police part of the world but rather the focus is on a woman living in the world and more of the emotional and psychological impact of losing memories of different things.

You may be interested in Planet of the Apes by Pierre Boules and A Winter’s Promise by Christelle Dabos. Both are French, former is scifi and older, while the latter is Fantasy and more recent 😊

I read The Queue a couple of years ago and it was surprisingly relatable to the way bureaucracy works in Mexico! (Which is where I’m from). It doesn’t feel SFF, more like an alternate future type novel, but it’s still good! A fun YA fantasy series translated from French is The Mirror Visitor series. If you like children’s books, one I want to read this year is The Land of Stone Flowers, which was translated from the Ukrainian I believe. There’s another trilogy translated from the Norwegian that I’m not sure if it’s adult or YA, The Raven’s Ring trilogy. (I haven’t read it but want to). There’s more but I don’t want to flood your comments haha 😅 (I just discovered your channel from Library of a Viking 🤓)

Wow - I've never heard of most of these! One book that I read a couple years ago that's in this vein is A Hero Born by Jin Yong. He's considered the Chinese Tolkien. Reviews are mixed, but I liked it enough to pick up the second book. (10 book series, not all are translated yet).

Vita Nostra is one of my all-time faves, but it's absolutely not one that's easy to recommend bc it's soooo bonkers, lol. Recommend the audio though, really atmospheric! Hadn't heard of most of the others here, so I am very curious to hear your thoughts. Hope you don't mind being my guinea pig for these books, hahahah. Great video! 🤩

I've read Waste Tide. I really liked it, only the ending couldn't deliver.
