"Oh, so Square-Enix hired a band to play?" Nah bro, that's Masayoshi Soken, the music producer, on guitar, and Michael Christopher Koji Fox, the english localization lead, in the dapper bowler hat rapping. At the most recent FanFest they even brought out staff members to perform a freaking meme dance.

@Hemlocker
@Hemlocker 3 жыл бұрын
They could get all the feedback in the world and it wouldn't matter because they won't actually listen to any of it. Anyone who thinks otherwise at this point has copium for blood. Also it's sad to say but because of how many people are abandoning ship, there might not even be enough good feedback left. A lot of the people still playing WoW are either on a heavy regular dose of copium or are stuck on classic. If you ask either of those for feedback, it's probably gonna be nonexistent or bad. Basically it's too late for WoW. As Josh Strife Hays said, it needs to be taken into the shed and shot.
@OWnIshiiTrolling
@OWnIshiiTrolling 3 жыл бұрын
If they played the game themselves, they would just continue living in their deluded world where farming paragon levels and nested RNG loot is "fun". Then they would do their m+3 weekly, take 3 hours to do it, and go back to harassing their employees, who presumably can't work form home because they live in a car in front of their office, and the wifi doesn't reach that far. I think the wow devs are just actually idiots. They genuinely believe that the entire playerbase is wrong, and that they are the only ones who understand why wow is secretly really good and fun. They even went out of their way to tell everyone how conduit energy was essential to the game, and they only removed it because players don't understand it.

It is quite fun to see how hard it becomes to change people's perceptions again once they have changed. Like, now even when the XIV devs "fuck up" (Endwalker delay), no one even bats an eye because they are regarded in a positive light and trusted to have done their utmost to make it work and it just didn't; while even if Blizzard is trying to play nice now, their attempts are viewed through a cynical lens because they lost that trust of the playerbase.

@@niqourano3073 Tbf, reading off a script is not inherently a bad thing, especially when the dev on the stage are new or uncomfortable to public speaking. @@J-manli Also, I'd imagine, corporate won't let them do an announcement like this at this time without having a written script that can be reviewed by legal. Remember, Yoshi-P isn't really in position directly analogous to Ion. Yoshida saved his entire company from bankruptcy, forged the most successful Final Fantasy game in history, and is a member of the board of directors for Square Enix. He's in a position where he can pretty much say whatever he wants without review. Ion isn't, not even remotely. That said, the WoW people don't believe a word they're saying I'd imagine. Except maybe the artist. The rest of them wish the payers would shut up, open their wallets and let the Blizzard staff do what they think you're just not smart enough to enjoy. In the other hand the people of blizzard want to gain your trust again bu reading a text on their screens with a false emotion, with a grin in their faces, giving superficial promises to their players.... The difference is respect... blizzard has none for their community because any disagreement is a personal attack on them and they cannot ever be guilty of anything. On the flip side, S.E. seems to actively seek answers, ask questions, justify their decisions, and stand behind their commitments. All that translates into a genuine feeling that they respect our input as consumers of their product. Could you imagine a company like Coke completely changing the composition of their drinks and then running that brand into the ground while displaying complete disregard for their consumers' feedback? Me either. So why do you continue to reward Blizzard for making horrific decisions with your money? Copium is strong sh!t...

It took us a long time to win people over to play FF but we did that with love and enthusiasm. I want all games in the MMO space to prosper because we can have a lot more fun that way. So we should be rooting for them to do better! I've known people who have fallen out of love with FF for example, Gripes I don't share personally but came from an honest place people who played a lot longer than I have or put more hours in have done all there is to do in game, so I do take what they say with some silver lining that FF is not without its flaws - Even our game has room to improve. So just relax and have fun.

I agree in general, but by now Blizzard has proven themselves so many times to be incompetent, arrogant and disrespectful towards their playerbase that I don't think they should be given another chance unless serious changes happen very quickly (Ion getting fired would be just one necessary part of that). There's no evidence that trying to help WoW get better will work, and there IS evidence that such attempts will be ignored at best. The abusive relationship analogy really does work. If someone has been abusive to their partner over and over again, despite having the problems explained to them every time and them claiming they'll change, then at some point they no longer deserve the effort.
