Thanks for sharing. My mechanic was gonna charge me $60 to install the actual line. And the part was $30. So I searched KZbin and came across your video. Guess what I changed this part you replaced by myself less then 30 mins. Save myself $90 bucks... Part was only $10...

Those are junk , cut that garbage off and get a double flaring tool , reflare the 3/8 lines the way there supposed to be ..and change the fittings .. Some new idiot gm engineer thought they could redesign the wheel again , but it didnt work worth a dam , they leak half the time ..what a piss poor design ..

I've got the same o-ring leak on my 06 Duramax LBZ. I'm running heavy-duty 5/8 tranny cooling lines made by Fleece, and I couldn't find just the o-ring, so I ordered the connector for 14-bucks. Thanks for the walkthrough and saving me at least 100 beans!

you can remove the inside o ring and replace it. It fits in snug in the groove. Its seated deep into the fitting. The connector hardly ever go bad. just the rubber seal wear out.

Thank u for sharing buddy. I'm finding oil in my coolant reservoir, could this be the culprit?
@TheDaninator6 жыл бұрын
One of the main culprits for motor oil in your coolant is a bad head gasket.

The original fitting is a short threaded fitting, and the newer fitting is a long thread! The short threaded doesn't thread all the way not using all threads, the longest threads do use all the threads in the transmission! You have the better fitting sold to you by the dealership.

Hi..! I have a cobalt 2010 and I took it to the dealership and they fixed the passenger side axle seal and now the transmission cooler line is leaking. I was wondering if there is a connection between axle seal and transmission cooler line? In other words maybe when they were trying to fix the axle seal maybe they damaged de transmission cooler line or that's a different thing? Thank you
@TheDaninator3 жыл бұрын
I'm not familiar with Cobalt's but as far as I know it shouldn't be related. It seems to me either the dealership damaged the line, or just by sheer circumstance the line decided to start leaking.
