Two stroke bikes commonly have the clutch sharing oil with the gearbox - there's an oil seal between that and the crankcase, and if that leaks the engine will burn off all your gearbox oil.

@@fp6343 Maybe that is the case on smaller 2 stroke bikes, I only had bigger (125-250) and the carb was right at the base of the cylinder, or directly below it. Not in the middle like here. But I am not an expert and I guess the angle of the video make it hard to see exactly where it is.

I'm more on my Polaris 4WD with 4 wheels more now, tho 🤷‍♂🤣😢 Over the many years, & 20+ broken (healed) bones later 🙏😢😁👍 I knew it was splash lubrication...... BUT was always curious what it looked like 🤔 Very similar to a car/truck rear end fluid lubrication, OR a manual trans..... EXCEPT obviously that's trans fluid, motor oils, & or 80w weight in those. But with gas & 2stroke oil 32:1 (or about) mix..... Still a VERY COOL video 👍😁

Absolutely! Transparent engine bike work oil not only offers practical benefits in terms of visibility but also adds a touch of simplicity and tradition to the maintenance routine. There's a certain charm in the reliability of a good old "simme" (simple) approach, appreciating the straightforward aspects of motorcycle care. @graphicstechs 9 ай бұрын
Certainly! The transparency in the engine bike work oil is primarily to provide visibility into the oil's condition and level. Regarding its temperature resistance, transparency does not inherently affect the oil's ability to withstand high temperatures. The oil's temperature resistance is determined by its specific formulation and intended purpose. Always ensure to use an engine oil that meets the manufacturer's specifications for your bike, taking into consideration factors such as viscosity and temperature range for optimal performance and protection.

With that much oil in the gearbox isn't there a powerloss?
@graphicstechs
@graphicstechs 9 ай бұрын
The volume of oil in the gearbox is carefully designed to provide optimal lubrication without causing excessive drag or power loss. While it's true that too much oil can create resistance and affect performance, manufacturers engineer bike gearboxes to operate efficiently with the specified amount of oil. Transparent engine oil allows riders to visually inspect the oil's condition, ensuring that it remains clean and effective. However, it's crucial to follow the manufacturer's recommendations regarding oil quantity and viscosity to maintain the gearbox's performance. When properly maintained, the gearbox should provide smooth operation without significant power loss due to excessive oil.

Work oil? Engine oil or crankcase oil would have been a better choice

Thank you for your comment! You make a valid point. In the context of the video, we used the term 'work oil' to refer to engine oil or crankcase oil, which are commonly used lubricants in machinery and vehicles. We appreciate your feedback and will keep it in mind for future videos to ensure clarity in our terminology. Thanks for watching
