Transplant from Aerogarden Hydroponics to Soil | Is hardening off the plants necessary?

Some get transplant shock for me ...but usually bounce back. As long as the air and soil temperature are similar to the inside air and water temperature are close no hardening off needed. I also heavy water a few days until the roots start growing and get used to soil. Every plant outside in my garden started in htpydrponics but a few.

Wow, I didn't think that could be done. I usually take from AG , plant into a container, wayer well then keep it in tje shade for a few dayS. Your plants transplanted very well!

I moved 2 pepper plants outside without hardening. 1 survived. It went completely barren of leaves. But now it's exploding with growth and fruit. I moved 6 tomatoes from hydroponic to soil and hardened them first. They have gone absolutely crazy with growth and fruit. I'm in Utah 7b. And the sun gets a little nuts.

I did that this year and what I noticed is the leaves that we're established in the AG don't seem to do so well, however the new leaves and as the plant grows all comes in strong. So eventually you just prune off the old leaves. Just my personal experience this year with tomatoes and peppers mainly.

I took my basil outside and its growing no issues.

I had success with transplanting turnips, 0 sign of transplant shock. But both of my one month old cucumbers didn’t survive the transplanting 😢 I think the reason was because I used old waterlogged soil while the turnips were planted in fresh store bought soil
