Transport Fever 2 - First Look

Just a couple of remarks from an old Transport Fever (and even Train Fever) vet. ;) - you don't have to click the "click on station to add" button when you create a line. It's automaticly selected. (that's why Squirrel had to click it twice) - similarly, you don't have to select all the vehicles when you want to send them all to a line. If none are selected, it will behave the same as if all are selected. - the wagons waiting at the station was not because they load slow (at least not that slow). They were waiting to spread themselves equally along the line so that they don't bunch up all after eachother. (they will not wait if you put them on one of the full load options) - the planes (and ships) are split into two groups: small and large. There were only two planes to chose from when he showed the airport, because he built a small airport and large planes need a large airport. (the large airport can also be expanded with an extra runway) - you don't need a direct road connection to train stations. They can also connect to a road via another station. Stations can also link to factories directly.

@@tomtalk24 i agree, its much more like Cities in Motion in the notion that its a transport management game, just on a larger scale then inter city transport. but many people forget that the predecessor of transport fever, was train fever. which is the same game, minus the planes, buses, ships and trucks. and train fever was there before cities skylines, so i don't get why people keep making that comparison in the first place.

it showed the numbers for the stops on the route in Transport Fever 1 too, even for trains. And yes the modding scene is pretty insane, train / truck / plane models, realistic representations of real life stations. industrial objects in the hundreds, new industries. even trains and trucks that don't exist or are only in the concept stages for save games that go past the year 2050. EDIT 1: also pro tip the "large" map size, is not actually the largest map. more then likely just like in transport fever 1 you'll have to edit a config file (google it) and then you unlock the "megalomaniac" experimental map size. (the normal large map is a 4K map, the experimental size map is 6K) even if its experimental in transport fever 1 ive never had bugs or any other sort of problems with it. EDIT 2: not only can you zoom all the way in, you can click on any vehicle or person in the game, and then go into first person view. EDIT 3: Transport fever 1 also had a drop down for which terminal the vehicle would stop at, both in the line manager and in the station. did you even play transport fever 1?

If you are colourblind you will find the game frustrating. Despite numerous requests to not use green and yellow overlays, or to allow us to customise overlay colours, we have been 100% ignored. Disappointing that they have not corrected this from TF1 to TF2.

I love transport fever as much as the next person, however am I the only one who thinks this is basically the first game with a few minor upgrades? Both the vehicles, passenger and cargo stations are the same (I love the upgrading / mix and match though). A minor graphics update. Sounds are the same. For another £30 I would expect newer content, not just refurbished.

I think it's a 3d engine limitation. It doesn't seem to handle what is required from a game in this genre, sadly holding things back a lot. Two cargo items per city? Talk about absolutely thwarting your supply chain by design. I expected a massive leap in this game mechanic i.e cross-map demand and delivery etc. So definitely yup on that. For the price point, it's lacking tons even if the update is fantastic in a vacuum.

No, the game is not out yet. It doesn't release until December 11th. Squirrel is a content creator. The game developer gave him early access to the game to help promote it.
