I know that at the moment it's a bit early for bus lanes, but as soon as the towns grow they will become your best friend to combat traffic. Also, having both a CW and CCW bus route in a town is in my opinion the best way to go to avoid overfilled bus stops.

Thanks for the advice mate! I'll keep that in mind :) I've just started using bus lanes in the Only Trams series and it makes a hell of a difference doesn't it :)

I think decoration in general is definitely on the cards int he future once the routes are a bit more established. Not sure whether cable cars are a good idea or not though :)

If you want to speed up the ferry line you can add a seaplane there is a Seaplane_and_Pier mod something else to add :-) might have to wait on the dates same with the hovercraft :-)

I've never seen a use for renaming the individual trains in this game - but you DO have some names for the individual loco's and it would be cool to see them renamed. :)

Something I have found with freight lines that may be applicable to PAX if you plan to run multiple trains on both long and short routes, is to run the fast trains on the outside of a four-track. Specifically, using the inner platforms for trains that are to reverse direction means that they do not have to cross a fast-track to get to the return slow track. Your fast trains then only have to slow down when they are due to stop at a station, not to wait for a crossing slow train (Hope that makes sense?)

Yes that makes a lot of sense :)! Thanks for that advice. Does that mean you have point to point slow trains that just reverse back the same piece of track they came on?

​@@GroundedGamer855 Imagine a five station run between two terminus stations. The fast train takes the outer track, passes through the second station, stops at the outer platform of the third, passes through the fourth then onto the terminus (repeat for the return run). Two slow trains cover the same distance, one running between stations 1, 2 and 3 the other 3, 4 and 5. Each stop at an inner platform of station three (platforms 2 and 3). It does require stations 2 and 4 to have either four platforms or access via an overhead road to a single central platform though. The latter might be interesting if you have a sunken station, there is a mod that allows you to build a station with such an access. To be honest it is more applicable to freight, where you are far more likely to have trains stopping and reversing to drop off specific cargo types.

Thanks for the explanation I can see it clearer now :) Honestly that sounds like a really good approach for passenger lines too. If I can make those shared centre platforms at stations 2 and 4 split. Like in real life where there can be two trains at the same platform for example, platform 3a and 3b. If they are exiting in different directions that would work. I'm not sure if the game allows this though :)

@@GroundedGamer855 You can split one platform into two yes. If you have a five segment platform leave out the centre segment and join them with a length of normal rail to give two short platforms. You can even make an X between two short platforms and a passing rail to allow each length to be used in either direction, but the need for it is another matter 🤣

Quad-track main line is not the type of challenge I go for. I prefer making two tracks work (and not seldom three tracks).

That sounds like a lot of traffic to contend with :) I'm still quite new to all the mainline stuff so i think 4 track is a good place to start. Before I start throwing more challenges at myself :)

I know it probably doesn't mean much but your branch line to leatherhead has a higher top speed than your mainline service (70mph vs 60mph)

Oh I hadn't even noticed that mate, good spot :) I was looking at the power for the leatherhead line because of the steep incline more than anything :) Hopefully the mainline will get an overhaul pretty soon anyway :)

To be honest mate I’ve seen that mod before on other channel but completely forgot about it, that could really work well in some of these towns. I think I’ve seen underground and high level stations aswell.

Can you make a train roure from Rochdale to Bridligton so we can connect Ship to Train 😊

I'm not too sure of the plan yet mate :) People can get the ship from Rochdale to Gorleston if you want the train at the minute :) I'm hoping to have only two ways to cross the river on this series. One being this ship and the other being one singular air route once we have airports and decent sized aircraft :) I don't want any trains crossing the river at all really. I'm hopeful that this will encourage people to use the ships and aircraft aswell :)
