All good it’s just the rail profile. It was replaced by flat bottom which is used today. Higher speed and less jointed track.

Hi mate, thank you so much for the kind words I really appreciate it :) I completely agree that the community is on the decline, I’m just clinging on to the hopes of a Tpf3 :) I’ve also been looking into other games of a similar type that people may enjoy also. I’ve tried train sim which didn’t take off and I’m thinking of giving Flight Sims a go next but not sure how that will go down :) This would of course be along side the Transport Fever content! Thanks a lot for your comment :)

For the old cargo trams add track to the side of the museum and stop them there as a Cargo exhibit could even detail with paths and small buildings cafe etc..... good practice for detailing :-) Adie Gibbs has some good assets on the workshop worth a look just be warned detailing is a rabbit hole once you start ........

I'm catching up slowly (watching ep 5 while you've uploaded nr 10}, so you may have already done or declined what I suggest. Ignore at your pleasure. To develop a town I start by upgrading the main street to Large Street immediately. I use a Large Street underpass for the main crossing in the centre of town. It's relatively expensive, but it will be unaffordable later. Traffic flows easier like that, it improves city growth. I upgrade both streets to the Extra Large Street in 1925 for the same reason. I plan a clockwise and counter clockwise bus route with an odd number of stops (excluding the station). The middle stop should be at the end of the main street. That stop will usually collect a lot of waiting passengers, because both bus lines have been filled to capacity since leaving the station. I run a tram line between the station and the middle stop, so passengers can reach the station by bus and tram. When the city grows, I add a second tram line on the street with the underpass and both lines get a stop downtown (at the same section of road, to avoid these pedestrians crossing the street). When I build a train station, I put a Large Street underpass there first and build the station on top of that. This underpass should be a continuation of Main Street. Lay some extra tracks to prevent stuff getting built there. I put a cargo terminal on both sides of the train station, this enables both terminals to transport goods delivered to the train station and to make deliveries. This reduces street traffic through the underpass. I build a couple of urban streets on the 'empty' side of the station, to invite the game to populate it. If that doesn't happen fast enough, I extend the tram line to that area and I add a drop off point for one of the items the city requires. I add several double diamond switches (known as English switches in NL...) on longer multiple tracks. This allows trains to switch tracks, rather than wait at a signal. Providing the distance between two switches is larger than twice the length of the train, four trains should be able to run on a double track with a passing track of a single trains' length at the centre of the line. This is a hit and miss strategy, at times there is a conflict even though there are several switches that allow trains to pass. It also works just fine, on the same stretch of track. Adding signals undermines the purpose of this configuration, the beauty of it is that the trains keep running on busy lines.

Wow that’s a lot of information and advice to digest :)! It makes a lot of sense to put stations over an overpass with connections for passengers and freight each side. I’m not sure it’s something that I could afford at the start of the game but it’s definitely something to look at moving forwards, probably when we start to upgrade the efficiency :) Thanks a lot for taking the time to give the advice mate, it is appreciated :)

@@GroundedGamer855 Transport Fever 2 merged with Cities Skylines would be a great fix for that. There is a fair bit of rail, shipping, air travel and commerce in Cities Skylines. I wonder if it's possible to play Transport Fever 2 inside an edited CS map. It would complicate the gameplay a lot, you'd then have to develop industries and haulage as well as the towns. But then again, if it was founded in autumn it would actually make sense, with all the red, orange and yellow leaves of the forest around it. I recently learned, more often than not, the simpler the Coat of Arms, the older the dynasty. So when you see a CoA completely full with all kinds of stuff and so colorful, you'd think a unicorn puked on it, it's either fairly new, it's changed a lot over time from the original or someone has no idea what they are doing while pretending their CoA shows the richness of their family's history. And the reasoning behind that is actually quite simple if you think about it. At the beginning of your dynasty, you usually haven't done anything big yet, so there is nothing to put on it to display. Just randomly putting something on it that shows any supposedly big deeds that you can't prove in the end is more embarrassing or even dangerous than it's worth. So you stick with something simple and maybe your descendants will later on put some of their deeds on it unless they decide they don't want to brag or think 'let's keep with what our ancestors gave us'. So, keeping your CoA simple makes it actually more realistic. The three crosses could mean your dynasty is very religious and believes in the holy trinity. With the black background it could also mean your family survived three big wars or big plagues. Would be nice If you could come up with a story for it, add a bit of roleplay.
@GroundedGamer855
@GroundedGamer855 26 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment mate, great insight as always :) I completely agree about the more original CoA's tending to be the more simple designs due to having nothing to brag about. I also think another reason for that is that many years ago there just wasn't technology to create really elaborate designs and different shades of colours. I like the idea of having a reason for the CoA, I think maybe it's too late for this series now as it's already done but if people enjoy the game and we do a further series it's something I'd like to do :)

Player ownership just prevents cities from making connections to your road. Put bus lanes on the tracks to prevent cars from driving on them.

@@GroundedGamer855 if im honest with you i think 99.999% of the people will agree with me on this, its cos your soo relaxed, you dont rush things you make things look good and realistic. you take on board feed back about ideas/game play/maitakes. you engage with the people who watch you and over all your just a great guy. i hope that makes sense, but i hope it does LOL

Wow, thanks a lot for the kind words mate I really appreciate that :) I’m a big believe in playing the game whilst seeing things for the first time just like you guys are so we all experience it at the same time. I didn’t wonder whether I should complete the episodes myself first off camera, then do them again on camera so I was more confident in what was going to happen. In the end though I don’t think this is right way to go so I just record everything first time :) This way if it all goes wrong you guys and help me with ideas on how to fix it haha!

Good luck on your new position it always stressful to move and adjust to new environment. Wish you all the best. For the yellow line I think you selected alternative platform. Something you can consider is having higher capacity slower tram in a city and fast trams between cities.

Thanks a lot mate I really appreciate the kind words :) Yeah the higher capacity but slower idea sounds like a good one. I’m not sure if there are slower trams as time progresses though :)
