As a truck driver my advice to you, Rob - avoid brokers. Whatever you pay them, they take 50% at least and all they do is copy paste info into the load board and sell the load to somebody else. Brokers don’t even have trucks and can’t move anything. Just call a trucking company straight up.

Logistics companies are in integral part of shipping. Trucking companies by themselves don't typically have logistics operations. I know this because I've banked both types of companies for 35 years. Listening to this and being in the trucking industry myself, 9.5 times out of 10 the driver isn't the issue. While I am not in the auto hauling industry, I still face many of the same issues. Brokers with rare exception are notorious liars in my humble opinion. I am to a point now where I contact the actual customers directly just to keep everyone on the right page. Brokers will wait past the last second to dispatch a driver on a given load just to find the cheapest possible service. If the service is cheap enough the broker will make all sorts of deals with them regardless of your required time line. On the .5 times out of 10 when the driver is actually a part of the problem. While equipment does break down, it usually isn't a real common thing. One thing to keep in mind, drivers are just a cross section of American people. As a result, most really don't care able schedules so long as they are being paid. People like me ( who actually do care about doing a quality job within a given deadline ) are a quickly vanishing breed anymore. To be honest, I miss how the trucking industry how it was 15 plus years ago.

When i finally recieved the umbrella i arranged for a local moving company to deliver and set up the umbrella along with his other furniture worth hundreds of thousands. While setting up the furniture the movers rested the umbrella canopy on the boiler exhaust port of the clients house. The hot exhaust gasses burned a hole in the canopy and we had to spend 3k to ordet a new one for the client. When we spoke to the moving company it turns out they dont have insurance and they tried to say it wasn't their fault because it was dark and they couldn't see.
