Man im so glad he is opening up and loving himself a little more. Tommy Sandoval is an absolute legend. He will always be respected and remembered. To know someone who has struggled so hard can still get so far with his talents has inspired me in the darkest times and kept me going. 30 days sober tomorrow. I keep walking the line and falling off, had 129 days before I fell off the wagon. I felt so ashamed of it that I kept drinking and making bad choices. I'm back on the wagon, I'll have 30 days tomorrow and I am going to keep it up. This is super inspiring to watch because it helps all of us who seem to have gone down the same path as skaters. Tommy is an amazing human and even more to realize it was time for a change. Thanks for creating this TWS!

I don't really get the drink, become alcoholic, get sober mentality that I've been witnessing a lot in the US. It seems like it’s always about the extreme. Could it be because of the 21 drinking age policy? When I look at how myself and people around me were brought up with alcohol in France, it was more about enjoying the quality and the flavor of the drink then getting drunk. We were all tasting our parents’ champagne and good wine from 10 and on. Although, we were no saints, at 16 we were getting thrashed, but by the time we were 20-21, we were all drinking responsibly (not every day, within our limits and never just to be drunk). What is your opinion on that? I feel like the 21 drinking age policy in the US is such a highpoint that, past that day, people go 100 % into drinking and develop extreme habits. In the case of T-Guns, I think that the professional skateboarder life is also a huge factor that cannot be undermined (no clocking in for your job, good money, semi-star status, traveling…)

Skating since 1983 (roller skates trucks and wheels and a home made deck), got some sponsors , had a chance to do demos and meet so many great skaters from different Countries. Never drank or smoked and didn't judge who did, but damnnnnn....... lost the count how many of them fell on drugs and drinking. Sad to see them not skating anymore and trying to fight the addiction. I am 48 now , still skating a lot and seeing the new ones doing the same thing (specially the drinking )! Really hope that this video open some young ones' eyes!

This video and all the comments have blown me away. I used to work for Aaron Andersons (one of the 1st dudes interviewed in the vid) dad's tile company. Tommy and Aaron were my helpers. His brother Tyrone worked there also. I knew he blew up over the years, but not like this. Fuck yeah Tommy. We would tile homes in the new housing tracks that were everywhere back then, so imagine a brand new home that's 70% finished. One day as we're packing up to go home, Tommy says he can do a backflip off one of the walls. He didn't pull the backflip, but did put a huge ass hole in the wall. Listening to him try and explain to the super why there was a fucking hole in the wall was hilarious. "I was uhhh... I mean I was... I kinda slipped... I'm sorry". Respect homie
