I liked it a lot because the big thing was Josh Hartnett. His daughter did a good job too. They had great chemistry together. Good story and script.

I wanted to know your opinion of Shaleka Shaymalan. I too was curious if this was a “daddy please write me a movie” situation. But i actually liked her a lot and since she wrote and performed the music, i thought she was solid. I do agree a more seasoned actress could have gone deeper in some scenes but i felt she was spot on with her generation and how they are in every day life. Oh and Josh Hartnett was great! Yes the story was a little weak at time. A few unrealistic holes that to me were silly. (Like leaving the trap door open for a concert goer to fall into it just so the butcher could fantasize over it)

I hear the first hour is basically just a showcase of his daughters songs. Seems like that's the main reason for the movie. A pretty egregious case of nepotism

Should preface by saying I liked the film. If I was a successful filmmaker, produced and helped to finance my own films, and also had a daughter, I would probably want to promote and support her too. The general nepotism complaint has transcended being tired - it’s like people want trigger warnings for it or for people to step forward like they’ve committed crimes. I do think Trap spends more time focused on the actual concert than I would have had I been the filmmaker, but it it’s not what the quality of the film hinges on. I’d recommend seeing the film before calling something egregious or not.

Not great, but not terrible. Josh Hartnett and Allison Pill both had good performances. Both underrated. I felt anxious the whole movie which is the point of a thriller. Did not like that he was going to get away with it but it was creative to see how he got out of situations.

@TheOscarExpert MNS (M. Night Shyamalan) came to fame due to kind of backlash. Before The Sixth Sense came out, one of the seminal horror films of its day, most noted for making non-horror fans watch a found footage horror was The Blair Witch Project. This had some critics, specifically those that didn't care for horror, swooning at how scary it was. It certainly was an original take on horror. The traditional horror fans, esp. of the mad slasher genre that had been popular, were not as scared. The Sixth Sense came out shortly after that, and people loved it. It didn't hurt that it starred Bruce Willis who was still a big box office draw. It also was a breakthrough role for Joel Haley Osment (JHO). If you had to take bets who'd still be active today, MNS or JHO, you might have a hard time. Between The Sixth Sense and AI, JHO seemed like the next big child talent. Unfortunately, it helps if a child star is still charismatic as they become teens then early adulthood (see, Jason Bateman or Ryan Gosling), but JHO didn't turn out that way, and his career has faded. MNS, for his part, continues to make movies, due to the success of that film.

So unrealistic. They would show Josh Hartnett standing, then show something he did without showing how. Like putting bottles of oil or whatever in the fryer without being seen by all the people present. Or the cops on the roof not questioning him a lot more. The shirt guy letting him go with him to get the shirts. Giving Hartnett the secret code. The swat team letting him stand the bike up and being able to grab a spoke like a magician. Him being able to remove the limo driver somehow in seconds after the limo parks. Just too much convenience going on. The whole movie felt like a dream in a way. Especially the second half.

@@apocalypticambience You"re missing a point that was not a "bugs" of movie but a "fetures", It was meant to be this way: he could be caught so many times but he's not (seems to nice, luck, coincidences, Signs refrence? etc. ;) and could be caught when he try to go away from his daughter until he starts to realise something human look on daughter on a stage. And after that he didn’t change anything, so he ended up in a supposedly safe environment, and then he was caught.

People say that the cinema ia dying. I see why. Its because youtubers have created this era of telling viewera that a movie "sucks" before the viewer can get the chance to go see it for themselves. And like the sheep they are, people will follow their favorite youtuber's instruction to "sit this one out.'

Now I tembrted f in detail what I talked about on the Precession of the Equinoxes typing with the people on Earth knowing about Vedicc vulture. I am attending a Krishna program and one member in the Live Chat said that The duration of Kali Yuga is 432000 years. Krishna came down to thEsrthPlane 5000 years ago So we have about 437000 years ago. But in the scrituresit is said thatinAliYuga, there is a a 1000 year period of a Golden Age which according to Dr Pillai started since 2012 and he came to Singapore to give a lecture. So we are supposed to cash on on this opportunity rather than slip back to Kali Yuga after the 10000 year period of the Golden Ag.

My favorite parts were the ghost mom, bad dialogue, nepotism showcasing M. Nights daughter aka lady raven, the underused fbi profiler, the risk to a concert crowd to find one guy based on a receipt, the dumb driver, dumb lady raven, the dumb instagram live feed of placing a teen at risk, the drugged pie, the limo scene dummy, the picking up the bike scene and the end in the truck scene. This movie was pulled out of Nights @ss. Lol
