@TrappedInFallout I had hardcore builders react they had noticed transparent objects before but never realized what it was or could do. I was also flabbergasted that no one has discovered it before.😅
@TunzoFun3 күн бұрын
@ Makes me wonder how much more can there be? If someone can discover that just by entering settlement mode then selecting this or that, then start walking from one corner to the next, and before you know it there's a new exploit, then yeah that makes me wonder what else can be found using similar methods.

Cool exploit. Unfortunately, I don't see this working in smaller settlements like Hangman's Alley. That's where I always centralize. Unless someone finds a way 10-years from now ...
@TrappedInFalloutКүн бұрын
10 years from now, ha ha. Buy in short yes, it only really works across 3 settlements due to their size.

I would imagine you could lower your draw distance in the settings while building to gain a larger range for ghosted placement. And could do it in smaller settlements

Lots of us have moved on but there’s still guys like you keeping this old game alive, so there’s nothing more comforting that seeing an old chestnut

Did you know you could pillar glitch a room underground with a nuka cola crafting thing sticking out just above the surface therefore allowing you to build underground? Like put down a floor piece with the nuka cola thing on it. Use the pillar or better yet the tall scaffolding to put it under the map to the point the top of the nuka cola is just sticking outta the ground. Use it, tada your under the map.
@TrappedInFallout3 күн бұрын
Yes, I did. In fact I have been meaning to make some content around that for a very long time now but just never got around to doing it. Thanks Charles for sharing.
@efuller67703 күн бұрын
But how do you access it at that point?
@epstiendidntkillhimself14353 күн бұрын
Definitely wanna see this
@Umptyscope3 күн бұрын
@@efuller6770 Although only the top edge of the Nuka Workbench shows above the surface, you still can click it to use as a workbench (same as any workbench.) The game will then put you in position in front of the Nuka workbench, but you'll be underground. If you step back, however, and there isn't a surface under your feet, you'll fall down underground -- and land back on the surface. There are a couple of fun mods for Xbox that allow access underground too -- "Access Hatch by Niston" (which lets you build hatches and ladders to access underground or the sides of landforms) and "Climbable Ladders for Settlements" (so you can build a ladder underground to the surface which you can then climb up and back down.) There's also lots of KZbin videos already about "building underground" with tips.

@@charlesdeatelhauser7522 you can even get power armor and a fully functional settlement under the map, a power armor farm and mostly electrical systems are hidden best under the map. Under red rocket you can go over 8 floors down.

how do you do this in VR
@TrappedInFallout2 күн бұрын
That's a very good question. I've not had a great deal of time playing in VR but I suspect it is the same. Hold the object and then walk from one corner of the settlement to the other.
@cb-gz1vl3 күн бұрын
One thing I did discover when playing with this is I was able to group select the pillar then run out of the construction area and, when the timer ran it, it planted the pillar right where I was standing instead of snapping it back where it was. Might be a fluke or maybe a useful glitch.
@Dutchsweetshid3 күн бұрын
@@cb-gz1vl That is temporary unfortunately, the object is back as soon as you enter workshop mode again. Like the moon physics glitch or floating items after removing a conveyer belt full of stuff, or taking red death home.
@TrappedInFallout3 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing, I have to say that I have tries the myself. I did this in attempts of trying to build a bridge between Sanctuary and Red Rocket. I had mixed results so not much luck. Thanks for sharing though.
@cb-gz1vl4 күн бұрын
I think this only works on large settlements stretched over 2 or more cells.
@Dutchsweetshid4 күн бұрын
Longfellows Cabin is the only other possible place to use this, next to Spectacle Island and Sanctuary.
@cb-gz1vl4 күн бұрын
@@Dutchsweetshid I was thinking of that commune place on the west side with the hippie robot might be another. Most certainly won't work in Hangman alley. Maybe the theater.
@TrappedInFallout4 күн бұрын
In short, yes. Any settlement where things load as you walk around. Which for the most part rules out almost ll settlements except Spec Island and Sanctuary , in the base game anyway.
@cb-gz1vl4 күн бұрын
@@TrappedInFallout Yeah I was thinking of large areas like sunshine co-op and the drive in but apparently they are all one cell.

I was going to ask you about this glitch a couple of months ago... I know I started too, but I don't think I ever did, lol. The guy who found it thought it was caused by group selecting an item, then running with it. Which was extremely annoying and inconsistent. Now I know why, lol. Glad you covered it.
@TrappedInFallout3 күн бұрын
Thanks William. The group selecting is optional here but I used it from the beginning just to make it a little easier for later in the video when trying to select and place multiple object. Essentially I did not want to spen too much time explain the Pillar glitch.

Bot new originally used by the skooledzone.
@TheInsaneShecklador3 күн бұрын
Skooled was far from the first person to share the mechanics of group select (AKA the "pillar glitch"). While ghost clipping does use the "pillar glitch" it is far more powerful than the standard pillar glitch.
@TrappedInFallout3 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment. The Pillar glitch has certainly been around for years now for sure, but this video does not focus on that. Instead it uses the Pillar glitch ad a vehicle to focus on the Ghost clipping glitch (which as far as I know is new).
