Trash or Treasure? Yeoleo Carbon Wheelset // In Depth Review

Not sure, what‘s the use case for these wheels. EliteWheels ENT 45 you can get for 380.- ( at 1590g, with Pillar spokes, ready for CX). If you want to abuse the wheels, what about HED Ardennes Alu (ca 1600g) for 700-750.-. Personally I‘d recommend Deerobust (proven for last 10y, also in CX)… you can get 35 carbon wheelset (1100g…yes, tubular, disc) for below 700.- So what‘s all the fuss about 😏🤔 Nevertheless, love your vids mate 🙌🏽

These wheels are about 150-200g heavier than Elite Drive wheels but about $300 USD cheaper. Maybe because of the type of carbon used?

While I am not sure if its the case here, in general cheap carbon wheels make up for less sophisticated engineering by using more material which makes them heavier and less compliant. Its the same story with aluminium, there are some pretty light aluminium wheels.

It could be also a combination of the hubs.

Having owned these wheels. It's because they are Pilar spokes (metal) not carbon like the elite wheels. Nothing to do with the aforementioned.

Had a pair of 50mm deep carbon rims from Yoeleo. Lasted about 2years then then literally blew up while seating a tubeless tyre for the first time (about 5bar of pressure). The tyrebed part just separated from the rest of the rim. You can see where the two parts of the rim meet the bonding is extremely thin. Like you can rip the wheels apart with your bare hands thin. Also of course Yoeleo refused any warranty claim since it was a couple months out of waranty. But at least they exploded at home and not on the road i guess. But no more yoeleo for me thanks.

Man I have ordered 60mm pro rim brake wheelset last April . Recieved it on May . Ridden it for less than 200miles in total. first 10 miles the front hub have annoying sounds.. they have send replacement after a month.. then after ridden it for another 100miles it's quite fast and. The hub sounds is quite noisy but I like it. after using it on a mountain route with an averaged of 10 elevation for 40 miles the Rear Hub is disangaging now.. Their patented 220 hub that they have copied on Dt Swiss.. are not good.. waiting for they reply as it has 3 years warranty... They shoule have stick to the Original DT swiss 350 hub that they have used before..

The spreadsheet entries you made tells the story. What I liked about the Syncros wheels was the wrapping with carbon to mate the spoke crossing and the carbon mating of the spoke head to the rim. 8 spokes each side. They are pricy.

Yoeleo make good wheels. Rims seem very well made and mine bought in 2018 are still going strong. Paid $US680 for some 50mm weighing 1510g's. Mine came with novatec hubs which are ok, and cx-ray spokes which are fantastic, and haven't broken a spoke yet (touch wood).

Having owned multiple Yoeleo wheels I've never had an issue. LBS checked my 1yr old (same) wheels and couldn't find any deviation. The only thing that gets me is would we see a western brand wheels go under the same scrutiny?

These wheels seem to be one of the best values out there coming from a company with a bit of Chinese name recognition. I may be ordering up these very soon. One note from the video, these wheels should not require the “missing rim tape”. There are no exposed spoke holes to deal with.

I have a set of Yeoleo carbon wheels on my Cannondale Neo Lefty3, with the single front shock. After riding on them for the past 4000km I have no complaints. I like Yeoleo wheels, but the wheels you have in your video are UGLY! There is no way in the world I'd put these on any bike I own.
