Another capacitor slowly turning into a resistor. People are always so amazed when I change a capacitor and the unit starts. Even more so when I am the second opinion.

Ha ha, I was out On a call today for an A/C new Install quote. new condenser fan motor was just Installed by some other company, the Motor Thermally cut out 10 minutes after installed. so the guy called me for a quote for a new system, Ended up saving his system in about an hour. Technician wired a 4 wire motor in where a 3 wire was and put the Brown white on the fan side of cap and the brown on the common, but the common wire was still hooked up the the Dual run cap. The motor was Not a happy camper, Pulled 6 Amps that way when it should have pulled 1.6 cant believe that company just left it at that and quoted a new system. we got the customer a few more years out of his Non leaking r22 system. I see now how the Rescue motors can Bite a tech pretty quickly, amazes me they dont teach about the capacitor wiring better in school. Always Enjoy your videos Man, Love from Colorado :-)

I left commercial food service equipment in 1994. So those boxes look identical as in 90s. It still blows my mind they these restaurants are still filthy . The top of that box was gross and disgusting. I can imagine what the hoods look like. So sad these operators don’t give a shit.

Your video was incredibly informative and provided practical solutions for troubleshooting and resolving this common issue of refrigerator not cooling. We provide genuine Traulsen refrigerator spare parts.

This was a very strange service problem that may never happen again. I serviced 11 Red Lobsters in Atlanta in the 70's and they all had Traulsen reach-ins with Copeland semi-hermetic compressors. The problem was that the case was freezing up and would not cut off. The thermostat checked out OK. I had to unplug it to shut it down. After much head scratching I checked the compressor more thoroughly. The amp draw and it was normal. The windings added up exactly on my Simpson 260. Then I checked to ground and found a dead short. The thermostat had been previously replaced. I checked it again and found that whoever replaced it had wired the neutral leg through the stat instead of the hot leg. I think that it probably came wired this was from the factory. When the stat broke the neutral the condensing unit kept on chugging with power from hot to ground. Those old Copeland compressors were tough and determined to run.

Reminds me of one I went on today. Walk-In Cooler had a failed run cap. 45µf. Replaced it and it cycled on head pressure cut-out. The condenser had absolutely no open area on it because it was full of seagull feathers. I just wish I could share the pic with ya. My co-worker said I could make two birds out of what I removed from that coil.

We were always thought to not gauge up on small plug in units.. everytime you do you lose a bit. We usually just check gas temps the suction and discharge and evap. Those schrader valves are temperamental man. You never know what your gonna get with them.

Good Vid ! I Love Traulsen Boxes ! I Commonly see Traulsens Last 30 Years or More. Still Going. They are Totally Rebuildable until the Floors Get a Hole in them & Walls Get Pin holes. Then they are Junk. Thats usually 40-50 years Later. That One was not that old. A98 Last Digits. A= January. 98= 1998. For the New guys ! 22 Years old.
