French is a decaying language. I believe Spanish would be the third most popular language.
@MaxwellMacdougall3 ай бұрын
@@irritatedanglosaxon1705 I don't actually fully agree with the quote I used, because I believe that if someone truly wants information about the world, they should have English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Hindi and Arabic, potentially Portuguese and Russian as well. English is still a useful language to know for science, information, entertainment. Even with the negative things that the US does, I'm not going to downplay English's strength as a language. French is only too small if you use it to only watch videos about France, which is likely, because French speakers from Africa are somewhat disconnected from French speakers from France. Learning French in institutions is horribly biased towards France. The true value of French comes from being able to hear opinions from the Ivory Coast and the Congo, and I have changed who I watch on KZbin to reflect this.
@MaxwellMacdougall3 ай бұрын
@@kennedy6618 I completely agree with you about Spanish. I see more potential for Spanish than French. As for French being a decaying language, I have no idea, but I wouldn't be surprised. I wouldn't be surprised if African colloquial varieties diverge and become unintelligible from French, because I can already see it diverging a bit into Nouchi and Tolibangando.

Great advice Andy! Not mentioned but I think China should add America to its list of visa free countries. The more Americans can see China for themselves the better the narrative of American government bias against China can be reduced. One common denominator that leads to war is the fact that people of a country need to be taught hatred of the enemy to allow such a war. A great investment for China is to create packaged tours that are subsidized by China to attract Americans, Europeans, Japanese, South Koreans, and others to visit China and see China for themselves. Seeing is believing.

China grants Americans 144 hours of visa-free stay.
@Sayitlikeitis-jn6xe3 ай бұрын
I disagree. First of all, the program for visa free entry to China is only valid through November 2024 (for another 5 months). It’s not permanent. With the tension now between u.s. and China, China has to be extra cautious in who they let in into the country. China welcomes ALL legitimate visitors; especially the young people/students to learn and experience the history, culture and advancements of its country. People’s minds are so easily influenced by what its government or MSM are saying. And you are right that ‘seeing is believing’ and with what the visitors see and experience, they can form their own judgments. Getting a visa is not that big of a deal. Just like foreigners getting a visa to enter the u.s. All countries rely on tourism dollars to help their economy. I don’t see why China should “SUBSIDIZE “ anyone with their vacations. If people can’t afford to vacation in China or anywhere else in the world, then they should either save up for it or ask their own government for subsidy. It’s Absurd to ask China to subsidize the people of non-allied countries with their visits to China. It’s not China responsibility to ‘educate’ them. It’s like: if I wanted to eat at a 5 Star restaurant but I can’t afford it. I can either save my money for it or ask my parents for money. It’s foolish for me to ask the restaurant for a discount. (Unless it’s for charitable reasons).
