Most insurance companies will not now cover you for mandated quarantine if you are tested positive but with NO symptoms; they will only cover the cost of quarantine if you are actually ill. And now you have to take 2 tests: Day 1 and Day 5. So, between Day 1 and Day 5 you could actually contract the virus and become incarcerated for 10 days at between $65 - $220 per night.

I arrived into Bangkok last Sunday & I can’t stress enough how relief I am being here after 2 years from my last visit. It’s been stressful for the past few months because the Thai government kept changing the travel restrictions meaning I had to change my flight dates but when they made new changes saying that we can isolate in hotels for 5 days I didn’t hesitate to reschedule my flight. I had my Thai covid pass application rejected twice but luckily my fiancée helped me as they’re really strict on certain criteria’s. Anyways glad it’s over and you know you’re home free once you collect your luggage & exit out of the arrivals area

I think it’s relatively easy, haven’t done it yet. You can extend in country, just need to go to an immigration office. Cost is 1900 baht. If you’re coming from US, you can do 30 days visa on arrival and extend when you’re here

You can have the front desk of the hotel order you food or they have vetted neighboring restaurants ordering menu that will deliver to that hotel (you can use the phone in your room or at front desk) ...Also if quarantined that Quarantine hotel will include your meals in the total fees...

Hi , good video and good info , glad you did't sit next to anyone ! good point I will try and arrange an empty set to sit next to! just one point re extending that 30 days , easy to do ? as was thinking of arranging two months with Thai embassy but there is a bit of paper work and time to obtain a 2 month visa, rather just get the allowed 30 days and extend, want to stay for at least 3 months, arriving Phuket early April from N Z , never been to Thailand b4, subsribed today looking forward to your travels, cheers !

It's very easy to extend once you're in Thailand, especially outside of Bangkok. However, I'm not sure what the policies are for NZ, I'm from USA so I would just look into that. If you are allowed to extend in country, it's very easy.

Thanks!! Yea they cover the costs of quarantine for hospital or “hospitel”, not a hotel. You should not have to pay upfront because it’s local insurance, not international travel insurance.

Not totally sure what will change after Feb. 1 as far the application goes, but it sounds like you’ll still need the same documentation… negative COVID test, vaccine card, hotel booking that includes PCR test, and insurance. Check Thailand pass website, it should all be there

You can buy the sim card at the 7-11 too. There are many, many 7-11 in Thailand. You can buy the sim card at Family Mark also. The equivalent of 7-11.

I have checked their webpage, but can not see that 'Seven Corners' have a trip delay coverage that will cover for hotel quarantine for none-US citizens. But they have a COVID-19 Treatment coverage that includes hospital and hotel expenses if a qualified treating physician authorizes them. The hotel expenses can be due to unavailability of a hospital room due to capacity or distance or to any other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the insured person. But the person must be sick. I sent a query to 'Seven Corners' and learned that they do NOT cover hotel quarantine for non-US citizens.

Tough to say, it’s really up to you. Most things are open in both Bangkok and Chiang Mai.

If you test positive you have to go to a hospital(maybe public maybe private) or "hospitel" that is contracted with the sha hotel you chose. Pray to God your insurance covers that choice....also pray you are symptomatic most insurance will only cover you is have symptoms. If not expect to pay 10,000 baht per day at the hospital. Even if you are covered dont expect the hospital to do the paperwork. You front the money and have to get it back from the hospitals.

Hi! I have my Phuket trip booked in 2 weeks- under Test and Go (fully vaxxed). Do you know the procedure for traveling there with a covid recovery form? Because i got covid a few weeks ago, and there’s a chance PCR can come back positive. Once you cross immigration, you’re on your own until you exit the arrivals hall. SIM card kiosks are located next to baggage claim. Just buy one before you leave the arrivals hall. Congrats! Again, this is for Bangkok. Not sure if Phuket is different because you are tested at the airport in Phuket.

In the Thailand pass application, there are several hotels that you can choose from. But you will need to book on your own before completing the application. Once you test negative, you are allowed to leave the hotel and stay anywhere you want.
