My buddy and I spent a month last year traveling west from Ohio and tent camped the whole trip. We stayed in a different place every night and had no reservations the whole trip. Always founded a camp ground every night. The people we met helped us out tremendously along our travels.

In 2017 I rode 26K miles over a 4 month period solo and visited all of the 48 states and never had a reservation because I never knew where I'd end up any particular night. I used mostly free campsites. Some were up long dirt rodes going up the side of the mountain late at night and the GPS said I had arrived. I couldn't see any kind of a campsite so I just rolled my bag out beside my bike which was just off the side of the road and went to sleep. I never encountered traffic nor people at any of these free sites. I did a few in the parks and a bunch in commercial campgrounds. I had a one man tent that I'd setup if there was impending weather or the bugs were bad.

I live in Idaho… for fifteen years now. There is so much to explore. We have a condo up in McCall, and we love to go up for the weekends, I believe your camping near New Meadows. I should warn you, even if its over 100, the water is just above frigid. You’ll turn blue in minutes. You’ll need a good campfire. Safe travels.

I know that your trip to the North Cascade National Park happened a while ago. To put this into perspective, the North Cascade Highway that goes through North Cascade National Park is currently temporary closed due to avalanche danger. I suspect that this temporary closure will change into the seasonal closure. This happened to the Chinook and Cayuse passes. They started their seasonal closures a few days ago. The sitting in a stream or river to cool off seem like distance memories already. I was moving around snow on Friday. Thanks for another great video.

Back in the day when I photographed and videoed my trips, I did not video my self coming and going. That's twice the work. I was going to do videos for my bed bound biker friend, but he passed, so the need is no longer there. When I was videoing, camera gear was large and heavy. My top trunk was just camera gear. For me, watching you guys walk/ride by your gear is stressful. Perhaps when I retire soon (I'm 68), I will begin the videos again, and you tube or some other media for the first time. I have enjoyed watching your channel as I have ridden many of the places you have, and some I have not. I intend to get back out there soon. Thanks for the ride.
