N. you brought out the charm and maturing of Havana in a short video. Quite amazing editing. After sharing the story this far- a traveller could be redefining herself or being a spectator along for the ride like the rest of us. Really enjoyed the episode. Thnx.

Wow! This makes me want to visit Cuba now. I love the colonial architecture and all the old cars. Perhaps when Cuba and the US are on better terms there will be a lot of Cubans opening restoration businesses. The people look like they are simply enjoying life.

Brilliant video. You mentioned the Cayman islands. I spent time there, it's all white rock with no trees and full of very rich people. Maybe I missed the good bits but I didn't like the place at all.
@WhiteSpotPirates8 жыл бұрын
Hi Barry, there is not toms to see, that is true. But I found that the people there made the place worth while. Everyone was super friendly and there were social activities every day/evening and so many people invited me to join them in whatever they were doing, which I found very kind. But I would not chose it as a destination to go to for vacation, but it was a great stopover, and check in is for free, so that makes up a little bit for the high grocery prices... Ahoy, Nike & Karl
@AdventuresofanoldSeadog8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply. Yes Im sure there are good parts and indeed the people were friendly in the Caymans but as you say, not a place for a vacation. Cuba looks brilliant. Love your videos on Cuba. Safe Sailing, Barry.

Nike, sorry to hear the old motor is kaput. I had a feeling if you got the head repaired it would just putter along until something else broke. There is another channel on youtube called Sailing UMA and they did a homemade electric motor conversion that works OK and it wasn't that expensive. Something to look at. Have fun when you are back home. You should have enough video to keep us going for about 6-7 months plus footage you can shoot at home. It will all work out. Take Care.

Well, sometimes it's part of the journey...we just did not have enough time to do Cuba by boat. And I think some people are also interested in the destinations that I visit on this journey. For me, it is part of the story since I live on my boat because I want to travel and explore different destinations. The upcoming episodes will have some sailing related topics again, so I hope u will enjoy those again. Ahoy, Nike & Karl

I don't understand why everyone is so negative about communism in Cuba. In spite of the US embargo it's done quite well for itself. Removing travel restrictions and maybe at some point the embargo too will allow that island nation to flourish. There are a lot of wonderful things about Cuba the US doesn't want its populace to know.
