It is so nice to see that your mother is able to travel with you. I travelled with my dad when he was in his mid 80's. It really was a nice way to see things thru his eyes.

Thanks for the video! I was there last October and loved it. It was beautiful. I never realized they devoted so much of the tour about slavery. But I'm glad they didn't try to sweep it under the rug. But it's beautiful in the Fall as well. I'd like to go back and see it in the Spring. It's well worth the @$40 for the tour. You could stay all day and explore the grounds and then walk down to the museum and entrance area

Hi Robert! I enjoyed the video very very much. I live in that area. I’ve been to Monticello. Sometimes you forget or take for granted your own area for beauty history and the resources. Thank you for Reminding me. If you’re ever in this area again please let me know. I’ll make sure you have some great food and to go to breweries and wineries in the area. Jim

I really enjoyed your video. I visited Monticello a few years ago when I got a wild hair and decided to take a daytrip to see Mount Vernon. I was living in Lanacaster PA at the time. After seeing Mount Vernon I decided to keep going and ended up seeing Monticello and Willamsburg all within a few days. I hadnt planned to be gone that long and didnt even pack a toothbrush or change of clothes. Nothing a stop at CVS cant solve. That was the best trip ever. I loved the history in Monticello and found all of the inventions he had come up really facinating. Its a beautiful location. Love seeing your mom on this trip with you!!!

Mr. Morales I just love watching your videos. I Been watching for few years now and you inspired me to buy an RV. I have two young boys and me and my wife love it!! I will be singing your song when we go somewhere and my wife just cracks up! So nice you got to take your mom with you what memories y'all can share. And the weather on this video was GREAT! Oh and the traffic and people didn't look to bad on this trip. I can tell from other videos that you like me I don't like all the crowds. But it s hard for me to go in off season because of young kids. Thank you for the videos they relax me especially the music.

I guess this is the "official" kick off to the Lewis & Clark road trip? Very cool! I got a chuckle out of your numismatic comment: "the U.S, five-cent coin, also known as a nickle." 😄 I visited Monticello about 20 years ago, back when you could park up on top of the hill (and it was way less crowded). Actually the most memorable part of that day was eating at the histotic Michie Tavern just down the road. Recent reviews of the Tavern aren't too great, but it was a fun, delicious and very filling experience when I went. Really looking forward to following along with your adventures on the rest of the trip. Happy trails!

Mulberry Row is an essential part of the tour, and the Jefferson family acknowledging their blood relative enslaved ancestors began a turn for the entire tourism industry to acknowledge with detail specificity culminating with the recent archelogical digs on Jefferson’s land and James Madisons Montpelier 30-miles to the north. Great video Robert!

Good day Robert ! Really enjoy viewing your travels. I know you wonder about the gas stations where hired ‘we’ are not allowed to pump our own gas. Robert, Fyi Yard's Brewing in Phila makes a T. Jefferson recipe beer (and a Washington and I think Franklin too), its strong ale with some hops, not sure how authentic, or representative of beer of the day it is. Jefferson's Golden Ale - Yards Brewing Co. It is not that hard to find in the Philly area.

Things when presented out of context seem strange. "normal" for you is the same 'normal' everyday life for caveman. THAT IS YOUR MENTALITY.. In Reality, there were no roads in USA.. NONE in 1850. Guess why? No cars. You had walking trails, horse trails, traveler trails. And by law you had to grow your own food to live in America. They gave you a "plantation" or plot of land to work and grow your food, at least. Until 1871, now nobody has land except Uncle Sam, you work on his plantation.
