love videos of Anuradhapura established in 437 BC by King Pandukabhaya when he made a greek quarter as there were so many Ionians in the Hela kingdom. The word Ceylon comes from the word Hela. The king also built the first recorded hospital for both animals and humans. Was free too

I am loving your adventures . I am longing to arrive in Jan and start a new adventure . I am spending 2 nights in Anuradhapura .

It's a good spot to base yourself. I can recommend Villa Delorenta as a budget friendly, clean and comfortable hotel. Also, there's a nice restaurant called Mr Karapincha that has delicious curry and rice and good mango lassi for very cheap too.

We ate there quite a few times, it was our favorite. We did also eat at a guesthouse called Little Paradise Restaurant which although more pricey was very, very good and was a nice treat.

@adamconstanza Thank you I will check out the restaurant . I would definitely recommend The Elephant Freedom Project just outside Kandy they have 2 Elephants which you can walk ,feed and Bathe them ,they only allow maximum 15 people at a time ,you can stay overnight ,which I have done ,but you need to book it on line . Enjoy the rest of your great adventure .
