Convenience markets are everywhere here. The run of the mill market will not look like this Yandex. They aren't immaculate or stocked as well. Standard fare in the standard markets, some world brands are just ubiquitous. But we do have a lot of specialty markets, Korean, Japanese, Mexican, etc, even a few Russian markets. That's where you can pick up special items.

I enjoy your videos but you seem to misunderstand the impact when a brand "left" Russia. They closed down their local Russian factories and the Russians workers lost their jobs. There are no sanctions on foods of any kind so in wealthy areas like Moscow and Saint Petersburg stores can import those same brands. The difference is the prices are likely higher to cover the importation costs and every ruble spent on a food product made outside of Russia is a ruble taken out of the Russian economy. Instead of Russians being employed to make the food now it is foreigners, that hurts the Russian economy over time. It would be better for Russia to ban the import of all of those brands and force wealthy Russians to buy products made by Russians.

Popular chocolate bars prices in Russia is a the most unstable thing in the world. Stores add 100% profit and then randomly make discounts up to 50% on it. I like Ritter Sport and I know a store with permanent discount on it. They only change a set of tastes eligable for discount. So, with discount it costs ~110 rubles, but without it would be 160 in that store and up to 250 in a local store next to my home. There is a Russian market tradition for groccery stores to attract people with discounts. So one store can set a discount for sugar and another for bread one day. Next day they may change 10% of prices by adding or removing discounts to fight with nearby concurrent. It is a nightmare for stuff, but it is how it works in Russia. That is why it is very hard to track a real price for products which are popular. But in general, eggs and meat prices(especially chicken) went high starting from 2022(+50-80%), because a lot poor people got money from goverment and started to consume more products which they cannot afford before. I am talking about soldiers and military factories workers. Bread prices did not change a lot, because consumption did not change, same about luxury products like caviar. So it is very hard to gather a full picture.

This is the minimum possible salary in Russia, but I haven't seen such salaries for a long time. In Moscow, there is currently a high demand for couriers with salaries 7-10 times higher. Who is stopping you from going to work there?

I am an Australia passport holder with residency. I don't need to change to citizenship unless i choose to. The process takes about 5 years from the first time you step in the country.

@@TravellingwithRussell Does company formation gives residency permit ?
@GeorgeDurua5 ай бұрын
@@AllLoveHumans No. There is a simplified scheme, according to which you can try to obtain citizenship in three years. But there are no guarantees. It is necessary: - to have a share in the authorized capital of a Russian company of 10% for at least 3 years continuously; - the size of the charter capital of the company must be at least 100 million rubles; - the amount of taxes, fees and contributions paid in each of the 3 years of the calendar year must be at least 6 million rubles. This will only give you the right to apply for citizenship. The answer may also be negative if they don't like something.

The corporate 7-11 from Japan announced an overhaul that would bring US 7-11s more fresh food offerings and services closer to what Hawaii gets. I'm very skeptical of their plans I just don't see this succeeding especially in places like Compton, Bakersfield, Camden NJ, etc.

24/7 stores in Germany, as far as I know, are non existent. I believe (perhaps wrongly) that the religious lobby ensure that shopping restrictions are maintained. Sundays for example and opening times the rest of the week. There are a few exceptions to the hours and days with places where travellers are... petrol stations, railway stations, airports for example. But they also have closing times. The modern shop with what looks like fresh food is impressive. This looks rather like the German REWE compact shops they have in cities. REWE tend to have far higher prices than the others. Was this shop more expensive than others stocking similar products? Not sure if you will answer this later, only 5 mins in so far... ;) Alex.,
