The park offers 34 cottages, 18 walk in sites and miles of trails. The 22 lake offers boating, kayaking, fishing and a beach area. Vogel State Park is one of the oldest state parks in Georgia. Sweet, yeah, want to find a cool hiking town, where I can golf, and escape to for a few weeks when I retire in the winter. Also be able to hike. If you find any gem towns like that let me know. N. Georgia...Carolina seems to be the range, and the topography reminds me a bunch of N. Ontario. @@TravelSmallLiveBig

Northern Georgia has a lot to offer as well as Western North Carolina. But in the winter...? Not sure about snow in these areas. Tennessee & Kentucky are great too! We will be heading West mid-March to Texas for the eclipse then to Arizona. Far too cold in this area for next year's winter and I'm over the tornado watches... but I''ll keep looking for you!

Am hating on this park. Small campsites, too close together. WAY too many people, especially children. Too many barking dogs.

@@jimmyclay9316 wow - I’m confused. Are you sure you are talking about Vogel? The RV sites were plenty big, had recently been re-done and were beautiful.
