“No phones in sight”…what a wonderful observation. Being disconnected and reconnecting with real living.

What beautiful views, nature and the lovely little villages along your trek!! Thank you for sharing this. I’m a traveler too but I know I wouldn’t be able to do this type of climb. I’m living it through both of you.

13 minute mark we call those 'puff balls'(common name) in the west...and i loved Olivias hopeful, "it doesn't get you high does it" haha

Namaste as a greeting is fine at lower elevations, but after reaching Sherpa country you should switch to "tashi delek", meaning good luck and good health in Tibetan (Sherpa language is one of the over 40 Tibetan dialects).
@ChuriNgamula-h6wАй бұрын
I would say just stick with namaste

What a trip guys, bless you all red at the end! The views look incredible and Mario loving the singing, apparently singing at high altitude gets more oxygen into your lungs and stops you getting altitude sickness 😂 Much love to you both xx

From Jiri to Lukla? Why Lukla, it is a detour and a 200m extra climb from the trail to Namche.
@TravelsonToastАй бұрын
We didn't expect good lodges on the way to namche and needed wifi and laundry services, but now we know for next time!

That structure with tablets are called mani walls, those tablet have “Om Mane Padme Hum” inscribed on them in Tibetan script, it’s the most important chant/mantra in Tibetan Buddhism. You’ll find the same mantra carved on huge boulders, prayer flags and prayer wheels. Inside the prayer wheels are flags with the mantra printed hundreds and thousands of times, and each time you spin the prayer wheel it has a multiplier effect, as is the belief. You might even find people (especially older people) softly chanting the mantra as they go about their day.
@karipintakivi9153Ай бұрын
Always pass mani walls and prayer wheels from the left, then possible to touch /spin them with your right hand.

Thats crazy that a soft drink costs almost as much as a room for a night.
@TravelsonToastАй бұрын
Yeah, the rooms are probably the most affordable part of the trek.

When did you guys travel? Hows Kathmandu after the flood? Im thinking to go this November. Is it now good to travel? And explore the City of Kathmandu
@angrymaniac53Ай бұрын
The monsoon has pretty much ended. It ended late but it has ended. Not sure if the roads has been cleaned buy yeah it should be okay to travel now. It's dashain and tihar month. So many people would be returning to their villages. Considering how lakhs of people are leaving each day it's definitely okay.
@TravelsonToastАй бұрын
Yes it's OK to travel now!

Awful roads... Hiking in is the only way to go, I have walked in from Jiri 3 times (1985, 1998, 2000) once from Dhap (2018), twice out to Jiri/Shivalaya (1985, 2009). Great memories. Here is something we experienced in 2000 when in Jumbesi: Sir Edmund Hillary visiting the village: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYLVlpqjbsh3lc0
