We have always used weight distribution systems with bars. They do the job but they are heavy, noisy and quite honestly a pain in the rear at times. Many of you had suggested that we try out the Andersen Weight Distribution system which uses chains instead of bars. So last May, we ordered and installed the Andersen on our 2020 Lance 1985 travel trailer. We have used it for well over 15,000 miles in almost a year. And now I am finally ready to show you how it hooks up and whether we made the right decision.

Sold I bought one from your review and a few others. It was very easy to install. My first tow is in a couple of days and I’m so looking forward to it.

Very nice job on showing the Anderson hitch. It looks like it holds tight on there so won’t sway. Except for when it gets windy while you are driving down the road. Thank you Patrick for this video.

Glad this hitch is working out for you I had one. My trailer is 35'6" everything was well with in the weight for the Andersen 3350. Had the worst towing experience, couldn't get over 50mph with winds of 15-20 and tow vehicle is an F250 powerstroke. Did a ton of research before making the purchase. Andersen did nothing to help I reached out to them several times on the trip as well as after I made it home! If you dig on review you will find people that have had issues with trailers over 30'. Easy of use and set up was truly awesome with the Andersen! Best of luck going forward!

I would love this new system! I went back and looked at your last system and boy, this one looks so much easier! The one I have now, has only one bar and on my first big trip, I almost lost my whole rig when my Tab 400 started to sway while going down I-80!! That’s when I had to learn about weight distribution. ( using your video, of course!). Even though I understand the weight situation, I’m still worried about loosing control of my camper. This Anderson system looks very easy and would take away my worries!!

When we started RVing with a tt we started with an Equalizer hitch. It worked pretty well, you don't have to unhook the bars to backup, but it does creak. We later switched to the Hensley which is the Cadillac of hitches but it's outrageously priced new. With that said I purchased it used and had around $1500 in it. It solves pretty much all the problems. We've since switched to a 5th wheel and no longer have any of those issues.

Thanks for the video. I have been waiting for it and worth the wait. I have the equalizer system and I will be listing it for sale and ordering the Anderson.

Thanks Patrick for the short video confirmation of the Andersen WDH device. I installed one on day-1 of our Lance 1985 ownership and don't really have anything else to compare it to. I have pulled our TT through 50MPH+ winds and it pulled like a champ, gives us great confidence for our travels. Let the adventures continue... :-)

Thanks Patrick, I’ve been looking at the Anderson for a couple of years and this is the first size comparison between it and the typical bar based system. The fact that you’re hooking up a Lance, we have a 1575 is an added bonus. I’ll be ordering the Anderson this week. Thank you for a great Channel! We hope to meet you some day!

Great video! We just got our Andersen installed to tow our new Cougar 22RBS with our Tundra Crewmax. Glad to hear it's working well for you! I plan on just removing and reattaching the triangle plate by simply raising and lower the jack and completely leaving the chains alone! Literally a 5 minute job for both actions! And you can do it all from one side of the rig!

I have the recurve r6 (upgraded from your r3); in a lot of ways its absolutely awesome at sway control and backing up etc - with that said it's HEAVY - I want the anderson specifically for this reason!

Good video. I am sticking with my Husky Centerline Hitch. It uses bars, but it's easy to use and it's already paid for! But will keep this in mind for the next trailer.

We hated our Husky Centerline. It was one of those with the bars. It was a beast to handle. My husband used to remove them in the parking lot of a campground while I checked in. Before I decided to sell my travel trailer, I had planned to switch to the Andersen’s. great video 👍

We just got back from a 1000 mile trip with the Anderson hitch it is such an improvement. Even the wife likes the hitch. Said between the electric tongue jack and the new hitch they are the best investments I’ve made in the camper.

I am a fairly new RV'er and purchased a 2021 Flagstaff Micro Lite 25BDHS in FEB 2021. Having never towed anything in my life, I chose the Anderson hitch based on online reviews and love it. I have never had any sway problems and my trailer (5400 lbs. empty) tows like a charm with my Silverado 1500 4x4. My truck rides "almost" perfectly level and love the light weight of the system.

We love are Andersen been 3 years and still works like the first day I stalled. But we do get a lot of people come up to us asking how the chains work. I can say it a icebreaker to meet new l and make new friends. Lol
