I tried one in San Francisco by ordering it through Seamless delivery and by golly, it sure is one of the best tasting donuts in history. I love all of them!! They were delivered to my door fresh and completely well packaged. I was born in NYC in 1965, The name of the donut shop in San Francisco is Mochill Mochi Donuts and if you guys decided to come to San Francisco. I do recommend that you try it out!!!😁

eggs, oil, water, and some sort of flour mixture (probably tapioca).. but can anyone tell what that 3rd liquid was ? (the one that looks like apple juice haha)
@Chud18933 жыл бұрын
Did not see them add sugar so it's most likely high fructose corn syrup or some variant. Considering this is commercial production and the fact that the liquid sinks under the oil it's most likely liquid sweetener. Could be wrong though.

What makes these donuts "mochi" donuts? Are they made with rice flour? They sure look yummy!
@NadoriKaija3 жыл бұрын
I was just wondering that myself. Even using rice flour, this still can't be considered "Mochi". Traditional mochi isn't even rice flour, it's just the rice, and a very specific type of rice. And nothing else. Then you turn it into mochi ice cream balls, or fill it with fruit creams to make Daifuku, or ball it and grill it for Dongo. There's other recipes too but the mochi itself is still mochi. And certainly has NO eggs in it.
@NadoriKaija3 жыл бұрын
@@megumi.2825 and you know the Japanese were some of the first, if not THE first, to settle in Hawaii? They didn't copy anything. They brought over the Japanese cuisine back in the late 1800's. Of course any new treat created in one place or the other will eventually find it's way to the other.
