NCL Lunch Buffet 250+ Items on Norwegian Joy (4K)

See what to expect on an NCL 7 day cruise for lunch at the buffet aboard one of line's newest ships, the Norwegian Joy. Lunch at the Garden Cafe buffet restaurant runs from 11:30 AM to 3 PM typically. The selection was very impressive, with so many items to choose from daily. Some of our favorites were:
* Fish Curry
* Chicken Tandoori
* Bean Poriyal
* Butter Chicken
* Shrimp Burger Patty
* Flank Steak with Mexican Salsa
* Roast Beef Sandwich
* Coconut Cheesecake
* White Chocolate Cream Caramel
The selection of Indian food was one of the most extensive (and tasty) we've experienced among the 35+ cruises we have been on. For sweets, NCL also had at least 4 different desserts daily on the Joy, with an ice cream bar as well. The Noodle Soup station was also a nice surprise for us.

The Indian food look very delicious and so many dishes to choose from, and same with the Asian food. Looks like there are endless of choices of other cousins as well. That’s what I love about cruising.....endless of delicious food!😜

Hello. I´m a spanish woman. I love to travel onboard the cruises and, usually, to get information I have seen videos about the ships and itineraries. I have seen your videos, I love it. I like to see how you enjoy and show restaurant and buffets. I have travel with Royal and NCL. The next month I will travel onboard of ncl joy, and I´m a little worried. I have read a lot of opinions and it are bad opinion. I travel alone and I need a lot of activities and thing to do, and sometimes I think that I will be boried on this ship. There are funny activities but the client has to pay extra money onboard. About the buffet, I have seen videos about seafood buffet, it was incredible, oyster, crab legs etc and I don´t know if it was because inaugural cruise or I can find the same items (oyster, crabs...). I thought that the buffet was open until 14 h. It´s so early to my to lunch (I´m spanish, and here the lunch is later), but in your video it´s writen until 15h. I don´t know your itinerary (Panamá or Mexico), I will do Mexico. Can you give your opinion or experince? In adittion, what do you think betwen Royal and ncl? In my opinion the guest service pre-cruise (by phone or mail) is better with Royal, and every activities are complementary. Than you so much for your help.

Thank you! On the Joy there were a lot of free fun activities- dance classes, karaoke, guest participation game shows, etc. The Footloose show (free) was great so don't miss that. We also enjoyed the comedy club as well. You should reserve comedy (also free) & Footloose early even before getting on board to get the time you want. There is a stand-by too so even if you don't get the time you want you can likely get in. We'll be posting our Norwegian Joy tour video in the next few weeks. As for the buffet- it opened until 3 PM for lunch throughout the cruise. But no we didn't see any crab legs, seafood extravaganza, etc. There was shrimp (though not daily) and fish. Overall it was a nice buffet with impressive variety. Royal big ships are hard to beat in terms of entertainment. The Joy & other NCL ships come close IMO. The smaller Royal ships are quieter but IMO not as good as the big ships from either NCL or Royal. Have a great time on the Joy! If you have any more questions please feel free to ask!

My problem with some activities, for example, the comedy show is the english, It´s good for me to practice english for a week, but my english´s level sometimes is no so good to understand every jokes. Footlase is good to me, but it´s only one option, for this motive, maybe Royal is a best option... My first cruise was EPIC and I was enjoing a lot. Then Harmony and Symphony of the seas, and I love Royal. Now I want to travel with NCL again, I like this itinerary and I think that it´s a good company too. I would like to practice cars, laser and galaxy pavilion every day, but I will need a lot of money. I hope have a good daily onboard like you say. Do you have some opinion or advise about the ports of call? I have several information but, for instand in cabo san lucas I don´t know if stay en this city or travel by bus until San Pedro del Cabo. I dont´s reserve a excursion, I like to visit for myself, in Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlán will know the city, but maybe I could free time because I´m traveling alone and I can see everything in a good time. Sorry, I know that I ask a lot, but I would like to make the most of time on both, the ship and the ports of call. Thank you so much.

You're very welcome! As for the ports it depends on what you like to do. In Cabo you can get a nice harbor tour ride with a local, and then visit a beach which is what we usually do. In Mazatlan we went to the Malecon and had a nice stroll- there is beach there as well. In Puerto Vallarta they also have really nice Malecon & beach. And of course there are nice restaurants at each of these ports as well.

I mean, normally i go to have lunch to the buffet and dinner to restaurants, i have thinked in ncl Joy to prove to have lunch in restaurants menu too. It was a diferents menu for lunch and dinner? And It was a different menu in taste, savor and Manhattan?

Thank you! We did not see any, but they may have it in the back. You can ask one of the crew members working at the buffet and they might be able to get it for you.

We did see some vegetarian/vegan selections, plus some "no sugar added" ones. The cruise line will try to accommodate even more, but be sure to let your travel agent know so they can make a note in the special dietary needs section of your booking.

On the Joy the Garden Café buffet is on Deck 16 near the front of the ship. The main dining rooms (Manhattan Room, Savor & Taste), the aforementioned Garden Café, and the Local Bar & Grill are complimentary. As far as specialty dining- it depends on your taste. Cagney's Steakhouse is really good, and we liked Le Bistro (French cuisine) a lot as well.
