Brad your story inspired me. I am and grandpa and started learning to code to supplement my meagre pension of $ 114.38. My grandson calls me the 'Coding' grandpa, so your channel is a very good source for me. Your past, is just that, PAST. If you look back you will miss the opportunity God brings across your path. Keep up the good work. Thank you so much. Regards. The 'Coding' Grandpa

I can relate to you on so many levels. I was changing jobs and through life I never had a focus on something and eventually that, and some wrong choices, led me to spend some time in prison. I got out six months ago and while I was in there I used to carry a book about html and css everywhere, and write code in a notebook because use of computer wasn't an option. I wanted to turn my life around and the struggle continues, but I wont quit!!!

Hey buddy, idk if you even will be able to see this but I wish I could describe how much I appreciate you and your channel, as someone who lives in a 3rd world country it was literally impossible for me to keep up with all the new technologies with paid courses because I could barely buy one or two, I refused to steal someone's course from one of these websites everywhere and that kinda got me so mad and disappointed but then I saw your channel and you've no idea how much you help me every signle day, you literally never dissapoints me, and I'm pretty sure if I ever got anywhere in life, it'll be all because of you :)

Brad, I walked a similar path growing up I had a mother who worked in medical and worked hard to to provide for us and I had a stepfather who was an alcoholic and had recently died because of alcoholism. I also grew up kinda sorta on the more poor side I never went to Disneyland or anything like that as a kid because we couldn’t afford it. The only thing that is different between us is I got into video games, comic books and cartoons as an escape instead of alcohol and and drugs in my teens years (Not to throw any shade because of your past lifestyle or anything like that). I appreciate you sharing your more in depth story to us as I can only imagine how hard that is to build up the courage to share a story like this, let alone in front of a camera. I want to tell you that thanks to your content on KZbin and Udemy, I recently got hired as a software developer that I’m going to be starting in about a week, your Angular content really helped me to land this job. I plan on becoming life time patreon supporter of yours. Thanks to your content, I don’t think I could’ve landed this job. So thank you for all that you done and congratulations on hitting the 30K mark.

I come from a similar background. I'm 30 now and last year in July I got into coding, with zero previous experience; bit by bit, from HTML up to CSS, to JS and now I'm diving a into React and NodeJS. I was afraid I was a bit 'to old' to start coding, but did it anyway and have come a long way so far. Thanks for sharing your story brother! Your strength and determination are truly inspiring to me.

@andreiconstantinescu9830

Anish, hi man - yes, I did get a job! I am now at my second job after I started to learn how to code, in a role of software engineer. My first job, which I took ± 9 months after starting to learn how to code, was in e-mail marketing. Basically I was building e-mail templates using very ‘rudimentary’ HTML and inline CSS. It was very, VERY tedious, but a few months after starting at the job, I was also asked to build web pages and make things a bit interactive, so I also started to use a bit of JS. I did this first job for 7 months, as sort of a ‘bridge job’, if you will, that helped me get more experience with web technologies, and also help my CV be more oriented towards Web Development. I am not saying that you need to get through an intermediate job to become a junior developer, but my circumstances aligned like that so it worked for me. Follow your passion, put in the work, be patient and the results will come! I think this is how the Law of Attraction works! :) Happy coding buddy!

Nikki , hi I'm Brad's mom I just want you all to know that my son amazes me every day, there was a time when I really worried about his future, everything he has told you is so true, I never turned my back on him no matter how bad it got and it paid off. I am so proud of my son,

Donna Warren, It's important when we can achieve our goals, and the way he did is so amazing that it's a big inspiration for everyone. It's so rewarding to see that hard work pays off and this is the example that the world needs. There are times where some people don't understand that by believing in your own dreams is the main key for the success, but we all need such a reminder in our lives, all the time, to tell us that we should keep pushing in life. Your son's example really makes me feel happy. I'm glad to know that my words had some meaning for you. Thank you for replying.

Brad, thank you so much for sharing your experiences. It can't be easy. It's great to see your passion. I love seeing the human element to your videos. Which is one of the reasons I follow you. The other for obvious reasons. Keep up the awesome work! You inspire me, and inspire my excitement about development. I bought your JS course on Udemy. It's so damn hard to remember everything. How do you remember it all? Anyway, THANK YOU for all you do! You're awesome!

Hi Brad. I have been following your tutorials and courses for almost a year and I really didn't know anything about your personal life. Watching this video has brought tears to my eyes since in a way it reminds me a lot of myself a few years ago. Thank you Brad for being a living example that anyone, no matter what the problems, can overcome difficulties and fulfill their dreams with effort and love. Thank you for reminding me that missing an exam, not passing an interview, losing a job and things like that, are nothing compared to losing a loved, struggling with drugs, etc... Thanks for your excellent tutorials and courses, I love the way you teach (I am not a native English speaker and I understand everything perfectly). I hope you continue making your dreams come true Brad.

Hello Donna Warren, You are very welcome. You have every right to be proud of your son.He has and is currently giving a supreme value to so many people in so many ways. I have learn plenty from him and continue to learn more everyday.Please understand, The college education is a Joke especially for men today.It is a conformity constructor of hive mentality slaves. It is an indoctrination factory promising a false or temporary life of prestige only to fail you in the end.Your son and others help to teach us how to think in stead of what to think. He has given value in power in a humble way under the badge of humility. That is so honorable. You earned every tear of pride and appreciation that you cried in reading our comment to Sir Brad Traversy. He is an Awesome Dude I mean that.!! Donna you and his father did something right as parents.So thank you too. I like a lot of others are beneficiaries of his talents and skills. I hope to shake his hand someday when I am accomplished and through my journey just to thank him face to face._TJ.

Big love to you for this Brad. I started coding at 23 when I was squatting in central Manchester. Caught up in a lot of stuff and in way over my head. found a lot of solace in a text editor. 9 months later and I got my first job in web, and helped with the front-end of a cakephp volunteer management system for a homeless charity. Full circle or what eh? Thanks so much for helping me level up my php, you're mvc/oop course is gold.

Brad, I do feel like you're my friend. In your videos it's kind of like hanging over my brother's shoulder watching him teach me something. And with your sharing I feel like I'm your friend, for you, to share this with me. I've wondered what your life is and was like and you answered that for me today. I've got to say that the only issue I have with your video lessons is that I don't have enough time to watch them all... LOL. Really I love you man. Thanks for doing what you do for all of us, {DO}

Keep sharing Brad. Your struggles have given you the gift of perspective. You're a leader. Sometimes the leader is the humble, honest, and truthful person. The person who has nothing else to lose. You're lucky to have found your passion in computers at a young age, a lot of people don't know their passion yet. Man, we all have a balance of blessing and curse. But when you realize there's no judgment in reality, that is an insight -- and as you say, inspiration. Enjoy the ride and keep following your passion -- as I know you will. You are you, reality is good, and you are good. Good is what is, reality is what is. Thanks for the influence Brad. You're a life coach, man. Just like me.
