There also had been a narrow gauge railway (2ft 6inch, like the Puffing Billy railway in Australia) from Nanu Oya to Ragala via Nuwara Eliya. It used to be the most scenic railroad in Sri Lanka. Unfortunately it was shut down in 1942

Amberella = june plum / hog plum Can be eaten raw directly with salt, pepper, vinegar , chillie powder. Can be cooked raw with sugar chillie powder, salt, spices (you had it with rice) Can be cooked raw into chutney Can be made into jam with sugar The ripen fruit is delicious too. Some even make the leaves to a mallum (salad)

I dont think that is the most luxurious train in SL there is one from Colombo to Kandy which is basically a complete foreign style one with the ticket being rs 5000. This is just a new train thats all.
