Nice review man. In my opinion, I would buy this to just put it on a shelf because it just looks so cool!
@DriftomaniacsRC8 жыл бұрын
Thanks it does look nice, it handles better than I thought as whilst the body sits on high posts for that MT look, the chassis is much lower and so it's not as top heavy as it looks.

I actually just seen this in my local hobby shop today, it actually looks like something I would buy! Hope to see a running video!

Nice video (thanks for sharing) but other than the new shell & ID connect, this is nothing we haven't seen a 1000 times before. Traxxas innovation 😁

Thanks for the feedback Steve. It's all new to me as I've not had experience of the Stampede which it's based on before, so I've tried to show the old and the new so to speak as I recognise that if people already have a stampede they may not be bowled over by it, but if you've not had a stampede before then it's all new to those people. Hope that makes sense. Just been out test running it this morning. More to follow including a video where we hope to double the speed very cheaply. Feedback is always much appreciated.

can't wait for test run, I've seen a stampede but this should be somewhat different with those tires on
@peakrc94578 жыл бұрын
So I have a traxxas stampede vxl and I wanna put these tires on it can I do it?
@DriftomaniacsRC8 жыл бұрын
They should fit and power should be a problem to drive them with that VXL motor. it truly will be a monster truck! The bigfoot is the same platform as the stampede so they should fit - although you'll need to check for any possible fouling on the body but I don't think that should be an issue.

I notice that you can put the 7 cell battery that has the 7th cell on the side (sort of like a hump) in easily. some of the seven cell batteries have the extra cell on the end of the battery making it longer, do you think that style would also fit in the battery tray?
@DriftomaniacsRC8 жыл бұрын
I don't think it would fit the one with it tagged on the end. It takes the stock 7 cell 'hump' pack, but the other one you describe would be too long for the tray

Ahh I see, thanks.

Is this basicly the Stampede with different body and wheels
@DriftomaniacsRC8 жыл бұрын
Yes it is BUT the wheels make a hell of a difference to it's handling. Few other minor differences but Mods etc would be the same though. E.g. 50% speed increase we gave it in the other video would also work on a Stampede
@hunterross96158 жыл бұрын
So the tire difference, is it better or worse. I will be driving this in the woods, gravel, grass, pond, etc..

Hunter Ross yes

I was looking of getting a grave digger for my 7yr old brother. What would you recomend, grave digger or Bigfoot?
@DriftomaniacsRC8 жыл бұрын
Shortly testing both back to back. The key thing is do you want scale (Grave Digger) or speed (Bigfoot). It would cost a lot to make the Grave Digger go fast as it has an 11mph top speed out of the box, the Bigfoot does 22+ out of the box and 30+ with the extra pinion. That said you can put the Bigfoot in training mode which gives 50% throttle. My daughter is 7 and if I was to get one just for her I think I'd go for the bigfoot. My heart says Grave DIgger as it just looks awesome, BUT it doesn't handle as well due to the solid rear axle and the Traxxas is likely to be the more durable in the hands of a 7yr old, likewise you will find spare parts for the Traxxas to be cheaper and much easier to get hold of. Also it's much cheaper. Hope that helps a little. Twin test coming up very shortly as we have both to play with.

My first 1/10 scale RC was a Traxxas Monster Jam Son-uva Digger (Stampede 2WD), and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but it was lacking in hill climbing capabilities. I eventually upgraded it to brushless and beefed up the chassis, and it managed the increased performance quite well. The Axial SMT10 Grave Digger is based off the old AX10 Deadbolt/Ridgecrest platform, and that drivetrain was not well-designed for speed, but more for crawling and maybe some light bashing. The SMT10 has some improvements over the AX10 platform, but it still uses the AR60 axles and AX10 transmission, and if you run a high power brushless system in it, it'll wear out quicker than the Traxxas 2WD Stampede, because it has many more moving parts. Real Monster Jam trucks don't go fast, but are high torque, so they can truck around those arenas and jump mounds, pop wheelies, and drive over piles of junk cars. Hence, the SMT10 Grave Digger is more scale. 😆 The Traxxas Bigfoot will be better for a skate park, as it's faster and more durable.

RC Dabbler Many thanks for the detailed post. There's some great stuff in there that people who aren't familiar with the 'digger platform will find useful. I've also got an AX10 Deadbolt and I can feel the roots that the 'digger has in that (Particularly the drag brake stops!). I'd never go brushless for the reasons you outline. I'm hearing stories of lots of breakages with brushless in that setup for the reasons you outline. The digger looks so good but just needs that little bit more speed, not much but a touch more. Appreciate the time you took to comment.

So is it fully waterproof?
@DriftomaniacsRC7 жыл бұрын
Waterproof esc and servo BUT the rx only sits in a watertight box. Check details on Traxxas website before buying though

does this come in a 1/10 th scale? And how much would it be in CAD$?
@DriftomaniacsRC8 жыл бұрын
It's a 1/10th scale. It's $209 USD so you'd need to use exchange rate calculator for CAD$

I did not know how slow the Grave digger was I was going to buy one now I am not going too.
@DriftomaniacsRC8 жыл бұрын
It has it's own strengths. It's no speed king but it does handle big bumps and jumps well. It's also 4WD so will climb and crawl better.
@camross474748 жыл бұрын
Well it cannot jump because it is as slow as a snail.
@DriftomaniacsRC8 жыл бұрын
RC Monster Mash Studio yes it's slow but on big drop offs it will handle them pretty well. I've just been outside with it now and whilst it goes up rocks well it's struggling on loose dirt where I thought the 4wd would help
@camross474748 жыл бұрын
Yeah I guess you are right its not made for racing
@DriftomaniacsRC8 жыл бұрын
Still hoped for better in the Skatepark though. Shame really. You should check out both in the flesh if you can. The digger is more 'scale' for sure and looks amazing.
