haha, ye dude. The revo made me do pushups, no brushless ever did that before. I rem I had the first ever 2.5 Nitro Revo, was so cool when it came out. But Nitros were never that fast, even an HPI savage 21 and 25 were slower than this one.

@@hybrid32494 yea, i remember i asked a friend of mine to clock the speed of my 2 speed lst with xtm 457 big block and i believe top speed was like 32mph..but that felt fast back in 2007, when most hobbyists were still into nitro at that time
@hellfire08 Жыл бұрын
so far I was able to hit 54mph with the 18tz in my NTC3. I think it will do 60+ with a few changes. 1. New foam tires for larger diameter 2. Remove wing from body for less aero drag 3. Lean it out a little more 4. Longer runway! 60mph should be achievable with those changes!

Had an xtm x-cellerator. Rated at 47, with proper fine tuning clocked it at 50. Paid well under $200 used for it. To get a brushless car with multiple batteries, fast charger, you're already in way more. And you need lipo batteries to get the real speed which are not cheap. Nitro is already there, keep filling with fuel and keep going. It's not even about speed, it's about people not knowing or wanting to know about small engines so they get a plug and play electric that anyone could operate. Nothing wrong with that. But electric is way more expensive if you wanna go fast and go longer than 15 minutes.
@hybrid324944 жыл бұрын
hey bro! check out my newest video on this exact Revo, I got it to hit 46 MPH this time and I have great on-board footage from the run. watch the video, let me know. Anyway, very cool you got the XTM x-cellerator, I love that brand, cause it's super quirky. I have the XTM X-terminator 2 buggy with a .28. And yes, nitro is great, it will never die and it will always be on my channel. Overall electrics might be faster with good systems but they don't have the cool sound and the exhaust. Mine with a 3.3, 25% nitro, THS torque pipe was very weak. I got it used, so I tried replacing the 3.3 with a new one. Still too weak for me running in grass. I had a .18TM many years ago in a 2.5 chassis revo and I still had it. I tried it in the 3.3 chassis and it was a lot stronger than the 3.3, even after 10 gallons of use. I ended up with a 21TM for $300... was a hard pill to swallow, but it made the truck fun. I had to convert the trans over to RRP steel though. Kept blowing gears apart with the 21TM. I have a second 3.3 chassis revo with an LRP28 in it... it's pretty crazy. When I drive one of them, it's usually the 21TM revo as it gets better run time and is less likely to blow a diff or slider axle.

Hi there is this engine a direct fit from the stock one?
@hybrid324945 жыл бұрын
hey man, I cannot say for 100% since I purchased this REVO with the OS already installed. But from what I know from a previous T-maxx and REVO engine upgrade there is always an issue with the crank shaft. These trucks require a short shaft, so you at most usually just have to get a Short shaft or have to cut some of the thread off. The OS 18 TM is a direct bolt on from what I read in forums.

What size engine does the Revo 3.3 come with?
@hybrid324945 жыл бұрын
Tony Cherry hey man!! The original stock motor would have been a traxxas 3.3. The 3.3 is about .20 cubic inches. Which is a small block engine tht makes about 1.4 hp. The one in this truck is an OS .18 tz which makes about 1.8 hp. Its running rich and could hit 44 with a better tune.

haha, yes dude. Brushless is totally different. You gotta kinda baby the nitros, because the systems are way more complicated, and they are much heavier. But I''ll tell you this, the heavy trucks drive way more realistic through rough terrain than the lighter electric cars. Basically when you jump this, you pray that it lands well, otherwise disaster.

hey buddy! these NITRO engines only run with the correct NITRO fuel. They will not run on regular pump gasoline. These use a special mix of methanol, nitro methane and castor oil. You can easily buy it online. Look for 20-30% nitro contest and about 10-12% oil content. That is what matters. You can go to bones brew online website and get it fairly cheap there. Its the fuel I use now . Do a search for bones brew nitro fuel. you will see it.

I know right. These were only rated for 45 from Traxxas with the 3.3. So if I leaned this one out a little more it would surely get the 45. Although I think the Actual traxxas 3.3 is a larger in displacement of 4.4CC when compared to the OS .18 of 3CC. From my google research just now.

I never ran a 3.3, but I've run a TRX 2.5, was pretty moderate I'd say. The TZ really isn't fast, if you check the top RPM it's on par with the traxxas motor specs. Although the OS engine runs super smooth, starts easy and holds a tune very well. Keep in mind they also use the special OS Turbo glow plugs, which have no shims and are longer than typical ones.
