That run was going so well! The best I've heard you since you got this truck. I went with the insert too. I installed the 17T pinion and found the mesh to be too loose. Swapped out the insert's and installed the 16T, mesh was much better. I bought B, C, D too. It's running how it should have came out of the box. Got to run it some more.

You should! I am happy that after all the money I have spent on the truck that I can finally enjoy it. I wonder if I had just gone with those inserts from the get go, if I would have had a lot less issues. Oh well...

This reminds me of the traxxas trucks of the 90's, back then traxxas trucks and buggys had mostly white dyable nylon parts that people dyed all different colors, pretty cool way to color code your machine

I've got 35 6S sessions on my stock Sledge and the only breakage I've had is that same lower C-hub pin. Drill it out and install a hardened 4mm bolt with a lock nut and you'll never break it again. I run the neutral HR motor inserts and love the way the mesh is perfectly set without fiddling around with it. i'm looking forward to seeing the new vitavon drive axles as that's the one upgrade I'm considering.

Price wise, it's more than an XRT. 🤣 But I am really happy with it now. And the Castle MMX8s/1650kv is now my favourite combo. Smooth, low temps, and gobs of torque.

Also would the 3D printed castle mxx8s esc plate fit with that motor mount ? My other sledge has m2c reverse motor with same combo but would like the one I’m doing now to have that balanced weight in the air. Please let me know if you have tried the 3D plate.

Have u used the link to do some tuning? Sound like ur brakes are kicking in too hard. Or something odd there. Hindsight is always 20/20, after a month u did this video, are ur words still true? Still loving the 1650? Any other adjustment to the electronics? Servo upgrade with an external bec or maybe the castle has a better built in bec.

My mate Jake's got a 1650kv in his with a Max6, thing's an animal on 6s. Not sure what pinion he's got but i think it might be an 18t. Great run mate 👏👌

I've got the 23t pinion, but still running a 52t spur. I had run a 25t pinion, but that was almost uncontrollable. Stupid amount of speed.

I don't know if I missed or not, but are you running 8S or 6S in it? I know it's MMX8S, but assuming you can run either on it. I have the max6/4985 1650kv in my kraton, but I run it on 6S. It's pretty decent. Same esc in my outcast with a 4092/1650kv, also on 6S.

Cool truck, I'm considering a Sledge since it's 13% Off on Amain's website but i'm not sure if it's a good idea to go Sledge or get a Maxx V2. The Maxx V2 requires less upgrades than the Sledge can someone tell me which one should i get.

After having the maxx for a year, going from v1 to v2, 4S to 6S... back to 4S... I'd go with the sledge and just upgrade whatever. Or go with a kraton exb and get an M2C chassis for it. The maxx likes to eat bulkheads and bodies. On 6S, it likes to also eat diffs and more bulkheads.

Update, I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving earlier this month i finally bought a Sledge while it was on sale. I plan to a Hobbywing Max 8 G2 with 2250KV Motor or a Castle MMX 8s with 1515 2200kv or 1717 1650kv. Tell which i should go with.
