Being 31 and I haven't skated in 12 years, I picked up a board again after watching Braille for a few weeks. Even with taking falls they still don't affect me. But I also still know how to take falls and still pretty athletic. Good luck on your re-found journey on skating.

I've been a huge fan of Rodney Mullen since 1992. He's the one who inspired me to start skating way back then. I unfortunately had some things happen in my life and I dropped skating for 20 years. I started watching you 2 years ago. You inspired me to start skating again. Means alot to me. You have so much insane talent, dedication, and passion for skating man. Bad. Ass. Let this be a lesson for everyone. Doesn't matter what you do, you gotta try and try again until you're happy and satisfied. 230 failures is an accomplishment because you didn't quit. You didn't let the trick defeat you. Your determination won out. Jonny, this will sound corny, but I just turned 32 and I rode a skateboard for the first time in at least a decade for the heck of it. I could still Ollie. After I did that, a handful of kids ran up to me and wanted me to teach them how. One of them popped a legit Ollie. Your videos get me pumped and want to pick up skating again. You can skate, anyone can, it just takes some practice and motivation. I am still very new to skating, but by building my way up and I can now ride off of most curbs, and can sorta-manual if I try really hard. If you can't get the trick down, take a break for a little bit and come back to it later. Some day I feel very confident, some days I feel less, but I still skate for the day. You just gotta do baby steps.

The best part about hanging in there is once you crack something your average success rate goes up real quick lol- first 200~ tries you were 200~ for 0. At 1,000 times I reckon you'll be at like an 65~% success rate :D

I just love how you try this things over and over again where most people wouldn’t even try it because they give up just by watching it. Especially the first part just doing a „normal“ Darkslide just to warm up 😂 People reaction must be funny. I’ve never seen that and I also never make it cause I was never good at skating. Darkslide was always one of my favorite tricks to watch, first I‘ve seen it ( of course Rodney did it in the THPS 2 Intro ) I couldn’t believe it, that this is possible. I was a child, so forgive me my naiv thinking 😂 But how you kill it with the 360 Flip Darkslide, was just amazing. I hope Rodney watch your videos too 👍🏻

i like the giger counter. just a technicality, but isn't it actually a 360 shove-it darkslide? it just seems weird, that for a kickflip darkslide you have to go 1 1/2 flips, but a tre flip darkslide it's only half a flip. one of the inconsistencies in skateboarding.

First time watching. Loved it! Made me remember how hard I tried to learn 360 flips on their own. I miss skating every day. I'm gonna live vicariously through you sir. Thankyou for this video

Humans are wild. After 200+ attempts with landing it a few times, it clicked and you did what 4 or 5 in a row? Great effort and thanks for sharing!
