Tré is also good in the pick & roll with a finishing big. He had good chemistry with Nick Richards before Nick went out with an injury. Great pick & lob action.

There might be some technical similarities to Rod but aesthetically it's like watching an AI impersonation. The crossover, the angular build, the shin angles and the shorts. It's very reminiscent of AI. Rod kept the ball inside his frame and mostly played downhill. He didn't have that shifty herky-jerky style where the ball was going super wide. (Which was palming until the tail end of his prime.) The only real similarity tbh is how they use their bodies to create finishing angles once they are going downhill. But Tre can't finish like Rod. The guy who _does_ look like Rod is Kyrie.
@SFXingfulАй бұрын
@@michaelahurt Rod is Kai's godfather but Tre looks nothing like AI outside of trying to impersonate him. AI was so much more smooth and quick (especially quick off the floor) and so crafty finishing in the line. Nobody is like AI and it's probable that nobody will ever be because he was absolutely a world class elite athlete, the best of the best. Tre actually moves and plays similar to SGA because he learned from him, he's just not as good as Shai is. Which leads me right to how clickbaitish the title is because clearly Kyrie has the deepest bag followed by Ja and SGA, then what about Luka, what about DG what about Brunson who has literally every post move you can have... all I see Mann do is snatch backs and basic crosses.
@michaelahurtАй бұрын
@@SFXingful 100% agree on the SGA comparison I almost wrote an entire paragraph about how Tre attacks defenses like a mini Shai. The big difference between Tre and AI/SGA -- besides finishing but I'm really just talking with the ball -- is the first step though. Tre takes a lot of false and negative steps whereas Shai and Iverson used a long explosive first step that created a huge advantage for them. Like I said, the AI stuff is the crossover, build and shorts. It's definitely there at first glance. Obviously he's not AI in terms of talent or ability. There's a reason AI was the first overall pick and Mann was 18th. But there are aesthetic similarities.

I guess I really don't appreciate guys who are good at being a selfish basketball player, it takes heart, humility and intelligence to be a player who makes their teammates better
@Troy_AestheticsАй бұрын
You call it “selfish” but really it’s just his roll on the team, he helps create space with his elite scoring, opening up the floor for his other teammates, and is a decent passer

Give the guy some credit though. I'm an OKC fan and never thought he'd be even this good. He sat on our bench for three years and was eventually traded for an expiring contract. Now he looks like he's going to be a pretty decent starter caliber NBA player. I'm a little bit annoyed we let him go.

@@SonnyK248no way u never thought he was this good as an okc fan, every okc fan knew he was this good but we js had too many guards to play
@SonnyK248Ай бұрын
@@look_at_kai hell no. He wasn’t doing this with us. We basically play a 4 guard lineup so yeah we will always have a lot of guards. AJ Mitchell our second rounder has been getting high minutes this season. Mann was getting minutes too but he wasn’t showing this kind of production. If he was he wouldn’t have left.
@look_at_kaiАй бұрын
@@SonnyK248 I never said he was doing what he is doing now with us, I said we knew he could do it, his playstyle just doesn’t fit with what the thunder run, the ball is usually in shai’s hands so he never got the chance to show out and ajay Mitchell fits the team system more than he does but tre is still better
@SonnyK248Ай бұрын
@@look_at_kai Honestly even when Shai wasn't on the court it was usually Aaron Wiggins filling in for him. What Tre is doing now would have made a perfect understudy for SGA in the second unit or in the games where Shai wasn't playing. But he was always just used as an outside shooter when he was on the court for us, not unlike Wiggins or Ajay or our other bench guards.
