Dimash has the inborn capability to convey to people the emotions of the words in every song he sings, and in any of the 14 languages he can sing in. Who is Dimash? I, and a few others, call the singer of the millennia. From Kazakhstan, beginning his singing career at age 5 (he's 29 now, 2023), Dimash was accepted into the most distinguished music academy in his country. The world became aware of him in 2017 (when he was 22), during and after a Chinese singing contest called "Singer". His range extends from the top of the bass register to the highest notes of the coloratura soprano and whistle register. His first digital music album "ID" went platinum in only 37 seconds after release, and 3x platinum in only one hour, and 5x platinum in only one day on Chinese music platforms In December 2019, he made his US debut in New York at the Barclays Center. Dears (those he calls his fans) traveled from 68 different countries, 43 states & 2 US territories, and was sold out. Now writing his Doctoral thesis for a PhD in Musicology/ Composing, received all his degrees with honors while simultaneously filling arenas and maintaining his performing career, a first! He has a bachelors degree in vocals, a master's degree in composition and is about to complete his PhD in musicology this year. Dimash sings in 14 languages, plays 7+ musical instruments, is a composer, an amazing vocalist, patriot, philanthropist and, despite his popularity and talent, is a very warm and humble person. He (Dimash) has begun working with legendary Grammy-winning producer/composer Walter Afanasieff to produce a new song which will be released for principally the US market in the next couple of months. Afanasieff described Dimash as “the greatest voice I have ever heard,” after their first studio session and contract meeting on 22 November 2019. That is high praise when you consider the list of artists for which he has composed and produced, including Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Richard Marx, Whitney Houston, Thalía, Lionel Richie, Luther Vandross, George Benson, Destiny's Child, Kenny G, Michael Bolton, Toni Braxton, Andrea Bocelli, Johnny Mathis, Kenny Loggins, Barbra Streisand, Christina Aguilera, Ricky Martin, Leona Lewis and Idina Menzel.

The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), on the 7th of March 2020. Congratulations, you just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He is a twenty-nine year old multi-faceted artist with a soul of a thousand years, who hails from Kazakhstan. He sings in 16 different languages (speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, some English, and a little Mandarin), plays 8 musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in musicology (has a Masters in composition). He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 7 octave 2 semi-tone range, has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble and kind man. His mother is an opera singer and his father is a singer and producer. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "Sinful Passion" 2018, "Stranger" 2021,"Olimpico" 2019 link on Igor Krutoy's (composer that came out of retirement to work with Dimash) KZbin channel, "Adagio" from The Singer 2017, "Ikanaide" 2021 Tokyo Jazz Festival, and "Ave Maria" 2021 at New Wave. After digesting those performances, I can't stress enough my recommendation for one of his most recent songs and music video (mini movie) the artistic masterpiece "The Story of One Sky" that he wrote the screenplay for and spent 3 years composing the music for, which displays a lot of his range (not all) and soooo many vocal techniques and dynamics, including sub harmonics, whistle register, bass, tenor, baritone, classical, jazz, pop, rock and unreal metal screams....and unbelievable dramatic acting. Dimash sings from classical to rap, he is full of surprises, have a good swim in this vast ocean of pleasures. Do you remember the Diva song from The Fifth Element, a movie with Bruce Willis? In this film, the song of the alien Diva was made half with the voice of an opera singer, and half synthesized on a computer to show an alien voice so that human capabilities could not cover the range and jumps of this song, and so: Dimash sang it calmly, which proves that Dimash is an alien. When I heard Dimash sing, I thought that he was not human. When I heard what he said in an interview, I realized that Dimash is more of a human than all of us.

Dimash has God given talent but he has also focused on music education since he was 5. He has been trained in classical opera, jazz, Broadway, pop etc. He also composes music. One thing that I find important in understanding his music is that he is a very proud devoted Muslim. He is also fiercely proud of his Country, Kazakhstan. Hus country was under the rule of Russia, both the Tzars and the Soviets. The Country gained independence in 1991, 3 years before his birth. He has incorporated traditional instruments, and folk songs in his act.

Hi! Thank you for reacting to my beloved Dimash. 🥰A little background: Dimash is from Khasakstan and he's now 29 years old. His range is fenomenal (about 7 octaves and some semitons). He can reach a D8, wich is a note outside the piano.😮 You can see/ear in his Gakku concert with the song "Unforgetable day". This digital concert was done during the pandemic as a way to "compensate" the Dears (his fans), because some of his live concerts (that were fully booked), were canceled.😷 He can sing from base to soprano. Because of that he was invited to become a part of the Astana Opera, which he refused because he wanted to pursue a more neoclassical approach in his music. He's an independent artist and studied (and still does) music since he was 5 years old (almost 25 years). He went to midlle school, high school the conservatory and University (always studying music). He has a Master degree in musicality and is actually working in his PhD in composition. He works his voice 3h a day, EVERY single day! He's a very sweet, humble and down to earth young man. More Dears will give you details about him. For sure! Sorry for my english. I'm portuguese.🙄😬

If I could subscribe to your channel 10 X's, I would. Now, on to Dimash. You have only scraped the tip of the iceberg. I won't go into detail because I'm sure so many others will. He started his music studies at the age of five, piano at three, and has three degrees, including a Ph.D. in music composition. With all of that, he still trains vocally for 3-5 hrs. every day. It really doesn't matter what you react to next, Dimash never disappoints. Wait until you hear him sing " Hello". He has studied music since aged 5 when the teacher reported that he had perfect pitch. He has 2 Degrees with Honours in music and has recently gained a Doctorate in music too. Hello, happy that you are featuring our beloved Dimash on your channel.🤩👍 In 2021, during the pandemic, the Dimash fans (Dears) were suffering and missing Dimash so very much. Many fans fly to his Concerts wherever in the world he is. Dimash put on the Digital Show as a live Concert for his fans ( not much of an audience, just a few staff and support personel). Was no where near as long as a regular Concert but all the performances were excellent and we were so grateful.🙄😂😅🫤 Almost all the180 Dimash videos have subtitles in English. The lyrics are often useful because the vocal choices Dimash makes will match the lyrics meaning. He loves to mix genres in his music. He does have plenty of songs in english but some of my favorites are in Mandarin, Russian, and Kazak. May I recommend Hello, a very unique cover of Lionel Ritchies song in english next. Dimash fans are called Dears because we are "dear" to his heart like family. Thank you for discovering Dimash and welcome to a beautiful world of music. I don’t know how much you know about him. Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And that in all registers. His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of daily hard training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 languages so far). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how. Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. Sometimes he also can be a little bit goofy, and I love it❤️. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. OK, there is SO MUCH of his work that you can find with the English subtitles - try re-watching this later with them on, because not only does it not get old (I cannot estimate how many times I've seen him perform this song - this video specifically or others - it NEVER gets old, it ALWAYS hits as powerfully as the 1st time!), but he likes songs with powerful messages & meanings, so the songwriting is just as fantastic as the performance! If you go down the rabbit hole and I hope you do you’ll find there’s no one like him - he is a trained opera singer who turned down a place with The Astana Opera Company in his home country of Kazakhstan to pursue a career in music covering just about every genre. He’s an absolute musical savant. The best singer in the world.
