I'm so glad you got to check another item off your bucket list! I've been to Vegas numerous times, but never in a van or RV and can only imagine how difficult finding a place to park would be. So glad you saw all of these places! Hoover Dam is a treasure. The white on the rock cliffs of Lake Mead is the high water mark as the drought cause all that steady dramatic water loss in last decade. Rains in California and other Western places and more snow will help refill the lake somewhat. Las Vegas is fine but it has been 30+ years since the last time I was there.

I and a friend of mine took a trip to Vegas about 2 years ago our car was broken into in broad daylight . That left me with a bad taste in my mouth . Worse part was store employees and police were very uncooperative and discouraging.

That is fantastic you got to see a Circus Soleil show! My nephew was actually a performer in Circus Soleil about 10yrs ago. He was actually accepted to West Point after graduating, but he went to Last Vegas to seek employment at Circus Soleil ( without letting his Mom and Dad know) and then it became a family joke that, "He had past up a education to joined the Circus". He had done Gymnastics since the age of three and his parents just thought of it as a hobby and a activity to occupy his after school time and keep him off the streets of L.A. They never saw it coming, that he would end up in the Circus!

Stopping in Seligman was a good shout! Looks like a town dripping in Americana! 😍 The white canyon walls underline how much the water level behind the Hoover Dam. In addition to producing electricity, the reservoir stores drinking water for 20+ million people and farming irrigation. 😱🤯 I know you didn't mean to cheese your first night's parkup, but I'm glad you got one good sleep in! 😁 Maybe vanlife in Vegas is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get! The white colored rock is where the water level used to be. Lake Mead up stream on the Colorado River is only about a 1/3 full. It has been losing water for 30 years. Lake Powell is also getting low. Those columns are the water intakes. Pretty soon the water won’t be high enough for the Hoover dam to pull in water and generate electricity. The drought, global warming, and too many people using the water.

I've been to Vegas many times over the last 30 years (travel agent), from the opening of the Luxor to the opening (re-branding?) of the Sahara (so it's been a few years). I absolutely LOVE your reaction to the city. The sheer glee you guys showed, at every stage of progressing through the area, is what I love most about my job. Whether it's Vegas or Mauritius or the Seychelles or Moorea or Lake Havasu (MTV Spring Break reminiscing clients), I LOVE watching client reactions to places they never thought they'd be able to visit. I'm curious though, did you not want to try out the High Roller or was it closed? Oh and fun fact: the OYO hotel used to be the Hooters hotel.🦉 And to answer the question, I wouldn't camp in Las Vegas. I would use Las Vegas as a 'facilities' stop, getting a hotel (it's as little as $19 a night at the mid-major properties) and using the shower and such. I would camp in the Red Rock area or out by Green Valley Ranch. DO NOT park at the KOA over by Sam's Town. It's more expensive than just getting a room at a strip or downtown/Fremont Street hotel (except on the weekends).

Y'all's reactions to driving the Las Vegas Strip were precious! I made several memorable trips to Las Vegas in the '80s and '90s. It's always exciting to drive down The Strip! Hoover Dam is an amazing place. The tour down inside the dam is a one of a kind experience. I wish you could see that. The sheer size of some of the equipment is awesome! I never got tired of going to Las Vegas. There are always new things to see and old favorites to revisit. I wish you had researched it or ask for suggestions ahead of time. You would have gotten so many you would have had to throw darts to pick a few though. 😂 I loved to go to Las Vegas for Super Bowl weekend. You could bet on the game, eat, and sit in a large room to watch the game with other fans cheering. It's a wonderful atmosphere. I've never wanted to attend the Super Bowl and all the mayhem that surrounds it. But the Super Bowl viewing parties were always a great time. This was a wonderful video! I'm so glad y'all got to do a couple of bucket list things. It was great to watch you two enjoying yourselves so much. May your travels continue to excite and amaze you. Thanks for taking us along. 🥰

I started a weekend canoe trip at the base of the Hoover Dam with a Sierra Club group years ago. What a divine trip that was. You are waaay down in there looking UP at those cliffs. So incredible. Thankfully it didn't rain, so it was perfect. We saw sauna caves, hot springs and had a blast. Also went to las vegas for a couple/few days, by car. Might have stayed at the "White Wizard?". Yes, you really can't camp in a big city in the U.S. not legally, really no place to anyway. Would be yucky even if you tried. Some Vegas casinos used to be free parking but i would guess really noisy. 😣

I am quite surprised that when you left the Grand Canyon, you didn't head a bit east on I-40 to Winslow, AZ to stand on the corner (which is dedicated to the band The Eagles), stop at the Meteor Crater which is an incredible site, or go to Lake Havasu to see the London Bridge and the English Village. If you're ever in that area again, you must at least stop at the crater. You won't be disappointed.

Love the Hoover Dam however and interesting about decline of water level: the LA River doesn’t always have a drop of water in it!!!! I think unless I’m mistaken they terminator and Grease were filmed on the LA River so that says it all!!!!! However what I did like : the blue sky with palm trees remind me of my roots: North Cyprus. Hollywood with the backdrop of Hollywood hills and palm trees reminds me of Kibris which is why I’ve fallen in love with LA and Burbank. I now know why Bob Hope moved there from Eltham SE London xxx stay safe

I just love how the English ignore the 't' in a word. For instance, the word 'pretty' becomes 'pre ee.' The closest Americans come to that is 'pre ddy'.' And don't get me started on how the English ignore the R at the end of a word. For some reason, the word 'year' becomes 'yeaa' yet they DO pronounce the R that appears at the BEGINNING of a word. That's as messed up as official American lingo ! It's preTTy strange, you'll have to admit.
