An insight into treasure hunting for gold in the United Kingdom where we take a look at the underwater world of gold sniping.
Gold Sniping is where you put your wet suit on look for the gold beneath the surface of the water and if you're lucky enough, you can see the gold in the river with your own eyes and pick it up with your fingers
On this trip I also tried the Minelab Gold Monster 1000 metal detector out on the bedrock.

Haven’t checked on this pace in years I used to do it about 5 years ago up there. Just like yourself over worked and under payed but loved every second of it. Looking to get back up there this year. It’s bad now as most of it’s blocked off. I was able to drive really close to the gold mine back then and I’ve still got there tailings to pan in my shed :) I’ve got some good knowledge of the area over the years and found a few very interesting spots even a live vein but restrictions make it hard up there and don’t get me started on the mosquitoes. They are the protectors of the gold :) if your going again this year give me a shout and we will team up for a day of two.

Sadly they've banned 🚫 gold panning Adam so it's time to find new ground around the gold belt, this place is great to find easy flood gold and the odd picker but there must be other rivers near by that are just as good. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts pal.

Hi Ste, It's best to use natural light I think but if you were to go a bit deeper ( only a a foot or so ) a light could help I guess, n' yes the aerial shots add another dimension to the vids. I have a few folders now with footage from here to blend in rather than film with the drone on every trip.

Hello Wayne, I'm not sure pal and wouldn't want to give you any wrong advice. Some sites may be shut for the season. The one that I normally go to is miles away from here and is closed for 2020. Other campsites may also have restrictions in place for touring caravans only that have their own toilets and showers onboard etc. Each site will have it's own risk assessment in place.

Hi Barry, I used some O' Neil 5 mm surfing gloves and they are not too expensive either, they will wear through in he end though but are good for a season or two.

The silver coloured piece was hardly a bit of Platinum was it? Lovely little picker of gold you found, very nice to see. I would love to have a GM 1000 detector they seem to be the dogs b*llocks when it come to finding shallow pieces of gold. I will have to keep on saving 👍

I don't know what the metal piece was Gary ? but yes everyone I have met who has a GM 1000 all swear by them. I could do to test it with various pieces of gold and see what it can go down to in size.

@@MrDazP1adv3ntures one thing I did notice with the GM when you were using it was the cable seemed to be a little loose around the shaft and I know from watching other lads using them that the cable itself can cause false signal as it moves around over the top of the coil. A few velcro straps would help that it think. Just something to consider. Hope you don't think I am being a back seat driver, so to say, by mentioning that 🤣

The 1000 will sniff any gold out if it is there. I recommend you go on the geology viewer website to look at what's going on in your neck of the woods
