I saw this film back in the 90's on the Disney Channel when I was a kid. I thought Bobby Driscoll's performance as Jim was awesome. I was so devastated when I read he had died, but he lives forever in his films, especially as the OG Peter Pan.

Newton is the best Silver, because you can truly never make your mind up about him - is he being sincere, or is he just having you on for his own ends? You can't be sure, even right up to his final scene in this movie if he's telling the truth or not, how good or how bad he really is. That's what Stevenson intended.

@@Tempusverum Most of the violence was cut out from the film when it was re-released in the 70s to retain its G rating. The VHS and DVD releases had the violence restored and the rating was upgraded to PG

I hate that wicked one legged pirate Long John Silver in "Treasure Island" and the mean Wicked Witch of the West in "The Wizard of Oz", but I love Elvis Cridlington in "Fireman Sam" and Ted Glen in "Postman Pat" because they are my favourite characters in the different kinds of the fictional stories because I have favourites on my own.
