My father died from this at age 39 in 1977. For two months he was urinating blood, and began getting bruises on his body. Then jaundice set in. When he finally went to the doctor they immediately had him go to the hospital. After an exam they diagnosed him with hepatitis. Well a few days later or so the treatment wasn't working, so after more testing they finally diagnosed it as ITP. They immediately took him in for emergency splenectomy. He made it through the operation, and was in recovery for a while. Then he went into cardiac arrest. They couldn't revive him. Later an autopsy showed he has massive gastrointestinal bleeding, and bleeding in lining of his heart. He basically bled to death.

Started treatment last week.. NPlate is what they are trying now.. I’m an Anomaly since they can’t figure out what triggered the lupus that gave me a ITP..everything else is normal spleen and blood tests. Low platelet is it..no symptoms other than the extreme tired, some bruising and got down to 8,000 platelet count.

One day my whole body got covered with bruises and red-colored rashes. There was bleeding from my nose. I got feared and went to a local doctor, he advised me for CBC, On CBC, I was having low platelet count and was diagnosed with ITP. Steroids were started but there was not much increase in my platelet count. One day I discussed this problem with one of my friend. I have ITP and my lowest platelet count was 3, that was consistent for almost 3 months. I was trafused almost 40 bags of platelet and just continue my meds. Thank God, mine was 136 now. it's still low but compared to 3. A big change.

I was also diagnosed with ITP last August from 15 dropped to 8 so I took steroid for 2 months and it went back to normal but I have to go back to my coubtry and pandemic is still on goong so I stopped going to hospitals. I just recently went to a hispital to check my platelet count and it dropped again to 50. I dont know what to do.

@@kazehayaluca7966 I was diagnosed with ITP 23 years ago. Took steroids and it helped But each time I came off of steroids they dropped again. I ended up having my spleen removed. Hope that helps.

@@jeaniebyrd5931 yes me too. I stopped taking steroid and after 6 months of it dropped again. I’m afraid to remove my spleen so a month ago I tried papaya leaf extract . I will try to have blood test soon. Hope it works. Is there a change of lifestyle when you were diagnosed with ITP?
