I reckon that is a great way up. It makes a change to have a route on that side. It does seem to have lots of loose rock. Definitely an interesting route for a dry day. Thank you for sharing, you show us great details and offer ideas that we may not want to risk without having a good idea what the scramble involves.

@thebaldscrambler with a few scrambles like that. What was the wet rock like if you found any? Staircase you would have thought it would be slippery on the wet bits but even they were grippy.

It was bone dry when I did the runnel, maybe just a tiny bit of slime in the centre of it and I could avoid it by bridging my legs either side of the damp line (4m31s). I think the lower part of the the runnel would be trecherous after rain - I saw lots of moss and dried slime. I've only done Idwal Starcase after it's been dry for a week or two and I stepped over the slimy rocks onto the worn ones. I'm okay on wet rock with my TX4s, just the slimy/mossy ones that I avoid ;-).

@thebaldscrambler yeah same here, love my TX4s but avoid the slime. Can't think of anything that would get good traction on that tbf 😂

That camera makes every climb look vertical, I assume it’s not ?

Standard Gopro 11. Steep section at 4:46 but not vertical.

What do you think about doing the tryfan bach scramble Dan? It’s a nice short grade 3 scramble I think you’d enjoy

I filmed it earlier this year but it was too windy to put the drone up and there were few places to put the Gopro down so the footage was all from a headcam and didn't look great. I'll do it again when the weather is better and it's not busy and I'll try to get some better footage, but yes, it's a great little route.
