The love and appreciation you have for the world around you is so infectious! Your videos are such a treat to watch and are truly wonderful pieces of art! The manner in which you perceive the world is so refreshing, keep up the good work!

Agree, but infectious enthusiasm and a permanent smile only goes so far when in such obvious pain, and in real danger of giving out completely, and needing evacuation by burro, fortunately there are many in the area. She is a hugely positive person who is way in over her head in her trekking and fitness ability.

You are wrong about forgetting these people you meet! Here I sit in Columbus, Ohio USA and have now been touched by their story! Your videos are paramount in showing the world, the world! I do hope when you go back to Kenya you show the money there. The downtowns, non the less I get emotional watching your videos. I am absolutely fanatical about flying my dji inspire! I want to use it with purpose! search and rescue, or even showing the world the world. I've dreamt of traveling like you before I fell in love with flying, but with all these passions it only makes sense to do so. Now getting the funding will be a challenge. I plan on taking my wife and 1 year old to Kenya since she's from Nairobi! I will be shipping one of my inspires 2 weeks ahead of time. Please don't stop doing what you are doing. Lol. My wife said I've been talking about you enough she thinks I'm in love with you haha. Very emotionally inspiring

Seeing you constantly challenging yourself and throwing yourself in the unknown gives me this wave of motivation...with smart phones, we tend to give all our focus on social media,and we forget there's a whole world outside our screens that is waiting to be explored. Thank you for bringing us along your beautiful journey.

Very true. I think this is one of the most positive aspects of the internet - that we can share stories for free and motivate each other even though we have never met or live in completely different parts of the world. Thank you for watching.

I'm a 58 year old immuno impaired individual so I could never dream of attempting anything like this. I appreciate this beautiful educational cinematography. What an amazing country, landscape and culture alienated from the pretensions of western civilisation. They are such happy contented people in spite of owning so little. The planet is their home and this is the life they were meant to have and this is the life that makes you marvel as to why you were born at all for only to have had the opportunity to experience it at all. Obsessed with being alive.

Last summer I spent two full weeks backpacking throughout Peru, starting in Cusco, and ending up in the northern beach town of Mancora. Watching your videos takes me right back to my time there, so thank you! P.S. if you ever are looking for another awesome adventure in South America, I highly recommend Bolivia! I spent 5 months in La Paz and travelled around the entire country via bus and it was incredible, so much wonderful hiking, beautiful scenery, and no huge tourist crowds to deal with!

I'm going in two weeks back to my home country for the first time in 10 years to meet my biological family as I'm adopted, and your videos remind me of how magical, beautiful and special being in Peru makes me feel. Hold on! I want more!?!? Wheres the end of the trek Kylie? I'm sucked in and it feels like it just ends. :) I envy your work and how you document these trips. My goal is to share that people are people everywhere and I feel you share this message so easily. Its amazing and inspiring. I know this is old content but I would love to see more of this type of content. Your way with people and knowing different languages is a special gift. I know you have to progress and I see you pursuing new filming ventures I just miss seeing you speak with locals and giving them value. Its amazing! Thank you for sharing the world your story. You're an amazing story teller. Continue to grow and push yourself. You're very talented and I see very big things in your future. -Ash

My dear, dear Kylie, I don't know how you did it but you overcame all the obstacles and had the trip of a lifetime. I can't imagine trekking 8/9 hours on an injured ankle over that difficult terrain. You have such a strong and adventurous spirit and follow your heart when most people just talk about doing these things. The spirit guides you felt along the way will follow you and help you in the future. I hope you are enjoying some well earnedTLC. Be good to yourself and Thank you for sharing your wonderful experiences with us. With great admiration and gratitude, Cathy. (MiniCath)

Nicest video I've seen so far. One usually thinks only of the beauty and the magic of those places, but it shocks to feel all the pain and hard times you have to pass to reach them walking and sleeping outside. And lives like Norma's and her daughters make you think what's really important in the end... Lovely. As everything you do.
@KylieFlavell
@KylieFlavell 8 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Oscar! Yes, I think it's important to take away the comforts many of us are lucky enough to have on a daily basis so that our empathy and our gratitude is heightened. I was sitting peeling potatoes and the girls' father came home after having been away for work for a week and they jumped into his arms so excited and he hugged them for hours. I watched that family with such awe because even being around them for just one night, the love and joy in that little kitchen was patently abundant.

I truly understand what you are going through. I went to live alone for the first time when I was 17 years old in a part of Japan where no one spoke English. I really struggled with the alienation and the culture shock and it wasn't until three or four months had passed that I finally stopped feeling like crying every time I spoke to my family back home. Keep going - being an expat is such a challenge (particularly in Asia) but there is nothing that helps you grow and understand the world better than this experience you're having now. I have carried the strength I gained in Japan with me my whole life. Much love, Kylie

I loved that point about one's mind travelling more than his/her feet during a long journey. When I worked in the bush and we were cutting trails, conversation would diminish as we got increasingly tired and my mind would be in a million different places. Not in the attention deficit type of way, but, as I was left to my own thoughts, my mind traveled through childhood, relationships, heart ache, hope and the infinite minutia of it all. As you're at the end of your journey now, you must be at the point where the discomfort pales in comparison to the almost spiritual place that you encountered because of the distress.Those are quality mosquito bites; badges for a well worn life. Did they bite so much around your wrists that it became swollen and you noticed that you couldn't fasten a watch strap to your usual slot? Ah, bugs!Brilliant images and commentary, guys!
@KylieFlavell
@KylieFlavell 8 жыл бұрын
That's exactly it. The repeated rhythm, the hours that stretch on, that freedom to dive deep into your past and sort through your reflections without interruption. Yes, the mosquitoes bit all in between my fingers, elbows, everywhere! I feel like it was a lesson in meditation.

Congratulations to Peru. Your drone views are amazing and beautiful. We can now understand why The Incas fell in love with. We're going to Peru next year. Thanks for your videos. You should have made a 1-hour video of Machu Picchu with your drone.

Very nice video. So how do you keep the batteries for your things charged? It is not often that a woman such as yourself cares enough to get out into the rough. I could easily picture you at Ascot or somewhere. Congratulations. As to the insect bites, did you not have Benadryl to treat the bites? DEET has been useful in the past, but most certainly not for long term use. Good job expanding your horizons.

I love the video! Your mosquito bites...I thought mosquitoes don't live this high up in the mountains? I was told that they don't live above 6,500 feet (2,000 meters) and I know Cusco and Machu Picchu are in the 3,000ish meters. Are you at risk for Zika if you get bit then? I'm planning to visit Peru this December and I would like to hear your input. Thanks.

Cusco is 3600 meters, but part of Cusco is Jungle (ceja de selva) and is just the zone where Machupicchu is located. There were almost non zika cases in Perú (around 100 cases untill now since the decease outbreak) so the chances to get infected are ridiculously low, even more in Cusco where the weather temperatures are low. Most cases appeared in hotter regions.
