AMT 1:1400 Enterprise E Build Series PT 4

In this video I've applied the aztec decals on the saucer top. This is a new set that will be available soon from Hdamodelworks. I've also done some more work on the lower hull.

They aren't an exact match to either the first contact of nemesis version, more like a hybrid of the two. But, that's what the kit is anyway, parts of both ships. I didn't really like the look of the all faded grey of the first contact version. So we went with a little more color scale to them.

@@TrekWorks You've got me really confused here. This is an FC kit, hence the curved pre-pro dish trench, and the only re-tooling R2 did was the stand and mount; no Nemesis alterations at all. And the FC paint job was the one with warm, sandy tones, Nemesis had the faded grey-scale coloring

Man I totally agree that Polar Lights needs to bring back the dome stands to sell seperately! I have SO many kits that need a display base and these were good cheap practical stands. I don’t know what Polar Lights thinking was discontinuing them. I guess they don’t like to make more money?!?!

Hi Boyd greetings from Australia, great work on the enterprise -e noticed that you said you scraped the windows clean , I am using mr mask sol from Gunze just simply paint it on to the areas you want & with a cotton buds & water remove an excess simple no fuss at all saves on drilling too, next from e-bay their are alternative names & numbers to the enterprise , ie ...VICTORY, BOUDICA , GOLIATH, NEMESIS, ARGUS, LEANDER, & AUDACIOUS some odd names to be sure apart from that keep up the good work looking forward to the next episode

Build is looking great Boyd! HDA does some amazing decal sets, used his set on the 1/537(600) refit and they went down with no issues what so ever. Mask designs does great work too, would be awesome to see you do a paint job using one of their sets!

I know what you mean about the decal set for the Refit; I didn't even need Decal Bonder Spray.

I agree Russ, HDA has awesome decals...I used his Jupiter 2 decals from the movie Lost in Space and they went down with no issues and looks painted on first time I used HDA's decals and was a bit scary for me but they turned out fantastic. I was a happy camper after that lol.

Great job! How do you get the transition so smooth between the decal of the registry on top (NCC-1701-E) and the aztec decals???!!! I'm just at that step and I can still see the decal on the decal if you know what I mean. There is a glossy varnish underneath and I'm using MikroSol and MicroSet.

I used Duplicolor matte clear to seal the decals after they were applied. it makes the gloss of the decal film disappear and level out the edges. One or two coats is usually enough.

Hi Boyd, as the Decals on the front of the ship, don't match up with those half way down, will you be doing the Decals again so it matches all the way roynd.
