Very agreed, I am so thankful for this content that is unavailable anywhere else, but I would like to ask a personal favour that we let the little "continue to make it so" rest for a little bit, I often agree with you but that is getting kind of eye-rolling now, sometimes comes across as sarcastic or pretentious, just to be honest. I like the idea of making the pod one forward and one rear torpedo launcher and attaching one of those deflector pod pseudo secondary hulls onto the shuttle bay section, would fit in perfectly in the Axanarverse.

Just took a look at my Eaglemoss Akira and this is very much just a TOS Akira, but with the deflector moved from below the saucer up to the roll bar. But top, bottom, it all mirrors the Akira, just with TOS designed saucer/nacelles and the struts straight instead of swept back.

Yeah, this looks like a ship on the evolution tree branch head for the Miranda class, built in the post 4 years war era to fill a more utilitarian role inside the Federation where a secondary hull was not needed to boost range. That box on the back of the saucer is main engineering and is jettison-able if the reactor should run away.

The registry (if inserted into canon) implies that the ship itself, if not the ship design, was constructed between the Enterprise and the Excelsior. If we average the years of commission (2245 and 2285), that would yield 2265, around the start of Kirk's first five-year mission.

My only real concern about this ship is actually the name. Firestorm doesn't seem very federation like. I find that's true for many fan designs. That apart I can see that as a late nx-01 era/ pre TOS, refitted upgraded type of ship. The federation loves to update and reuse proven designs with new iterations so why not with this space frame design? Mission wise I see this as fast corvette style ship, that can be used as a patrol recon convoy guard. As part of a fleet like an escort for the connies and dreadnought classes

I like the idea of the Shuttle bay being a Modular Mission System that can be deployed planet side and act as an independent HQ/Base. This could give the ship the ability to deploy Marines or Spec. Op. forces any where in a quadrant. Or it could even give the ship better defensive or offensive capabilities depending on the modular attached to the ship. Carrying on from the Commanders comment of adding a module that adds a secondary hull; what if that hull was a flight deck for a fighter squadron? From the size of the ship I'm betting it is either a Light Cruiser or a Frigate class vessel, which would make it smaller than the Conni and much bigger than the NX-01.

Hmm, attachable lower hull with this design? Throw on two lower nacelles and you'll see a TOS era version of STO's Tucker or Scott class cruiers.

Nice job, guys, another interesting ship! I get the NX-01/Akira vibe, but also some Steamrunner with the boxy shuttlebay and rollbar mounted deflector. Rather than an NX Refit style secondary hull, what if the shuttlebay module could be swapped out for the secondary hull of an Oberth class? That would give it a huge boost in sensor capability while retaining it's tactical prowess. It looks like it would also be easy to upgrade this to TMP era specs with new nacelles and a Miranda style torpedo pod, and replace the weapons in the pontoons with megaphasers.

Exactly as Steven House said, "It's a TOS Akira". I love how you saw both the NX-01 and TOS qualities, but it seems that you totally missed the main point. It's an early Akira Class design. Granted the Akira was a purpose-built Cruiser/Carrier built for war, this is an excellent take on that later design. As soon as I saw the promo photo, I said to my self that it was "an early Akira, Cool!" Maybe do another show using this premise? It's like chicken soup, "It couldn't hurt."

I think a lot of us had that imediate reaction when we first saw the NX-01. Leading edge of saucer makes me think torpedo launchers more then deflector. They look close to what we see on the back on the module that you said you thought was torpedo launchers.

I would love to see this ship in Discovery. The Discovery warps into a shipyard and this ship is mid refit with the shuttle module being removed and replaced with a new mission specific module and these TOS nacelles being fitted, with Disc style nacelles being disassembled in a recycling bay. Or perhaps a war varient torpedo pod is being removed to refit this ship with its normal shuttle bay.

Detachable options mounted to the pod undersides would make this ship incredibly versatile and a troop deployment system or a colony support craft. I would love to see some concepts of those types of pods mounted to this ship. Don’t like the detachable shuttlebay idea.

It’s “space trucking” baby Seriously I like the concept of a class of vessel with an “aft mission module” It’s the equivalent of the army Jeep, Humvee, 5/4 truck, Deuce and a half, five ton, 20 ton, and HEMMIT truck . A basic drive frame that can then be everything from a troop carrier to a missile launcher. I view the aft module default being a main shuttle bay and related storage and shops spanning 3 decks and in its place you can have things like a three decker version of the standard shuttlecraft than can be a mobile base of operations, a CIC , expanded weapons array, a salvage and recovery grade tractor beam, part of the mounting points for a secondary hull even mounting brackets for hauling cargo modules. One of the things that is amiss in Trek, particularly the closer you get to TOS are vessels that could be “captained” by officers of grades O-3 to O-5

I kind of like it, although it feels a touch too advanced for the era. I think it's just how blatantly Nx/Akira it is. I can't look at it and see a precursor of the Akira; all i see is a Connie-kitbash with some Akira-parts attached to it. I think something more TOS-y could have been done to the twin hulls.

Can you gentlemen do a video on the interior of the TOS Constitution class, specifically the inner workings like the jefferies tubes? And where do those funky triangle ladders go? I assume they are a portion of the jefferies tube. We also saw Scotty initially crawl up into one, but we never saw the inner workings behind the ship, except in ENT "In a Mirror Darkly." Was the ENT version what was originally drawn up in the original blueprints or was ENT's version an expansion on already established canon?

its an Akira class. its just an Akira class in 60s era aesthetics. the Enterprise class, publicly called NX01 cause no one can stomach that ship to be called Enterprise class, is just an upside down Akira. i appreciate the effort the fan did in this, but can we just call it an Akira and be honest?

Scott Schapiro Yes, depending on the shot. I’ve always envisioned it having a ring of phasers around the lower sensor dome and the B-C deck module up top has the torpedoes. Not sure why they didn’t like it since that’s how it’s always been pretty much.
