the "rec room" reminds me of the experience, that we've all had, where you go to an acquaintance's house and they casually reference a type of room in their house that you've never heard of, like "Roger is probably watching the game in the Den" and you're just like, "what the shit is a 'Den'?". personally, that moment always made me feel like; "this place is bizarre and probably unfriendly, and I should leave before they walk me into the 'vivisection chamber'"

I also like that the preppers aren't too crazy. Like, when Burt hands an empty gun to the teenager, and the kid angrily hands it back, he still checks that it's empty and safe before holstering it. 1, 2, 3, and 4 are all pretty great in their own right. The first one is just an outright classic. Two and three up the ante by revealing the life cycle of the graboids, while having their own memorable sequences as well ("I am completely out of ammo" and "that's two and a half tons of high explosives!" for two, the chainsaw versus the graboid and "that's why we're on top of the food chain!" in three). And four takes the formula and brings it back to the Wild West, which is exactly as fun as it sounds. Everything after that you can take or leave, but it's just a fun series as a whole.

As someone who watched all Tremors movies, you can watch Tremors 1-4 and have a good enough time. After that the movies feel more and more like made by Asylum Films. They miss the self awareness and humor hat the first ones had. What made me laugh at the 4th one was that the small town, characters, everything was the same but 200 years in the past which was really funny. Michael Gross the actor who plays Burt said that he does the role of the character until he dies or the character dies. Because coming from a Sitcoms that was more tamed and conservative, he really loved to play this gun loving guy. Btw, he is a really cool guy and very chill.

It's pretty fun and they even get Christopher Lloyd in there! Featured a lot of Monstes of the week, which is exactly what it should be. Funny enough, it adapted some ideas from another cancelled 90s series that only got as far as concept art. The series features Burt from the first 3 films as a main character too. You guys are thinking of the Kevin Bacon series that got cancelled before it really even got off the ground.

One of my go to movies for arguing in favor of practical effects and why we need a resurgence of them in films. This shit is built to last. Not saying we shouldn't have CGI, just that it should be used more sparingly. Use practical for anything that is feasible, and use CGI for stuff that just can't realistically be done otherwise. Plus actors can do better performances when they have an actual prop to look at and not just a tennis ball on a stick. For anyone who wants to watch these, I agree that 1 and 2 are must watch. 3 and 4 are less good, but you can easily buy a 1-4 pack cheap so why not? No idea if the TV show is good, my guess would be not.

IMHO, the Cut Off is Tremor’s 4. 5 and onwards are dogwater trash, don’t waste your time. 1 through 4 are the best in quality, Burt Gummer ALWAYS has the best lines in the first 3, while all 4 are enough to establish a kind of timeline for the Graboid life cycle, which I personally think is interesting. Doing this WITHOUT SPOILERS (for the most part) so watch the movies to find out for yourselves 1 is giant worms. ‘nuff said. 2: we find out that if the giant worms survive long enough, they become something else and the rules for survival change DRASTICALLY. 3: A further evolution, which is not AS drastic as the 2nd form, but still makes them more dangerous, while also revealing the discovery that “graboid eggs” are a thing, and that the 3rd evolutionary form are the ones that carry the eggs. 4: Set in the old west, with an ancestor of Burt Gummer (played by the same actor) dealing with graboids AND the true “first form” of the graboids, which is what hatches out of graboid eggs and eventually becomes the worms we all know and fear. Everything after that was just poorly tacked on BS with “different evolutionary paths” and “a graboid queen” (or was it king? Alpha? Don’t care, didn’t see that one) until the Final one which was just BLATANTLY a Jurassic Park knockoff with graboids instead of dinosaurs.
