I like that you talk about the lead problem with vintage AND MODERN tableware.

George, your knowledge of history accentuates and compliments your collecting acumen. Truly recognize this and appreciate. Sorry you got burned on the fake. You might save some viewers future headaches they can use on other problems. :>)

I have that Pacific footed bowl in orange. I love original early art deco pieces and to me it's valued at $125, so I'll probably be keeping it for life. lol

I don't disagree with that as an insurance value! There was a time 30 years ago when pottery was worth quite a bit more, and I'm preparing a video right now about how pottery seems to be rebounding now

EBay has strange rules, I once sold a plastic mystery ball made to look like a Chinese ivory one. I listed it as ivory colored plastic and it sold for $65.00. Three weeks after I shipped it EBay contacted me and stated I had violated their policy and they were suspending my account for 4 days. Go figure and who did the suspension hurt? Not me. Great video, always learn about something new that I can look for when I go hunting!

Yes! So dumb. I can't sell anything that says camel, even a figurine of a camel because I innocently sold an e-cigarette for a client without knowing I'd be suspended from anything cigarette related because of some ATF rule I violated. That was after they took the bids and sold the thing I had been paid, by them.

Great sales! The _Little Horribles_ were...well...horrible 😂 They were fantastic sellers! I like the Arcadia oyster shell with the pearl. That Faberge egg is fantastic! The Roseville _Moss_ planter is definitely my vibe. I love the Spanish moss in Louisiana. eBay, for me, is there for what I'm specifically looking for, at any given time. As far as collections, I don't have space for more stuff, so I've not done a lot of random searching on eBay lately for that kind of things. If there's something I need for a project, etc., I search specifically for those items. Etsy...I avoid at all costs, if possible. I'm not fond of the way they operate their platform. I enjoy seeing what the items bring. Thanks for sharing this!

I knew you'd "love" the aptly named Little Horribles! The miniature oyster and pearl were cute though, and I always love the Moss line. I do look for specific things on eBay when I'm shopping, usually missing parts to things I want to repair and the like. Etsy is foreign to me really, my perception is that a stylist can outdo eBay prices on things that sell for style points but that you'll pay more for it. I'm glad you enjoy these follow-ups, I figure they're good for the collectors out there to see what's really happening!
@CONSTELLATION_PEGASUS6 ай бұрын
@@TheAntiqueNomad They should've made the _Little Horribles_ in larger forms...to hang inside closet doors 😨😂 I really do like the Roseville _Moss_ pattern. It and bamboo patterned pieces are two I really like. Unless I'm desperate, I stay away from Etsy. eBay seems to have a wider variety of items, and the prices are usually a lot better. The follow-ups do let people see how things are doing in the market, and they can really indicate what might be up-and-coming in collectibles.

The lead in Pyrex paint could be absorbed in the skin by contact . As well as get on the skin of the hands which was susceptible to cross contamination to foods being handled. I doubt anyone licked the painted exterior. Lol. But i have watched videos on yt on results of testing conducted on Pyrex coatings, which had positive for lead results and concluded that users could spread lead into whatever food they touched. It did scare me!
@TheAntiqueNomad6 ай бұрын
That's interesting and I hadn't thought of that in cold usage, I presumed most pyrex was for baking and would be used with gloves. I'm not a cook!
@malcolmharing37445 ай бұрын
@TheAntiqueNomad Thanks for replying 🙂 I wish I had saved the video about the test. Apparently it was a test for lead which anyone can use. Pyrex coatings tested didn't have a clear over-glaze. But the person who did the test was an expert of sorts . Her findings concluded the lead which was found could be transferred to the hands. Unwashed contaminated hands could get into food handled afterwards. It was an informative video, and it was on YT. Cheers! Ps, I love how informative you are in your videos and have learned a lot.😊
