happy new year everybody, I hope you're doing better than me. I am currently typing this from my bed, dreaming about when I can finally wear something other than my mom's pyjama pants.

I got a maxi jean skirt from my mom and was at the verge of cutting it up for a diy project - thank god I didn’t! Even though I was CONVINCED I‘d hate the look forever. Now I am so in love with the look!

I also didn't know that layering was possible and could be cute! Maybe because school dress code made me think layering was annoying and that you couldn’t wear the cute item without covering up in some way. I definitely want to start layering. Great vid!

Trend #10 is my favorite. Second hand, thrifting, hand me downs, all the things. There was a time in my life when my family relied on the generosity of others and thrift stores which is why I am used to and comfortable with second hand. Also, some of my best purchases have been at a thrift store and I think it adds FAR more personality to an individuals wardrobe then anything else. I will say, that one still has to be mindful of overconsumption. Just because it's more affordable (depending where you're located) doesn't mean one should be there every weekend hauling stuff a la Forever21. Continue to curate with intention. You'll be proud of your closet in the end.

You're a realistic fashion blogger though because you repeat the same clothing pieces frequently, it's great to see! Many bloggers talk about sustainability but don't appear to walk the walk-- it's a "good for thee, not for me" kind of situation where they lecture the viewers on sustainability and not over purchasing or getting fast fashion, then literally show like 20 new clothing items in every video. Most of us don't constantly buy new pieces or have a wardrobe with thousands of clothes, so it's cool to acclimate to the idea of repurposing my own stuff for different seasons to stay excited about those well-loved clothes.

Really legit trend spotting and your focus on thrifting, sustainability and minimalism is DOPE/ refreshing (don't ever give in to flashy fast fashion, which is all based on vintage looks anyway). Also, I'm super tall and get how difficult finding stuff is in the first place, esp thrifted but it's a worth the effort!

I love your videos, you're so funny and chill! I hope you don't take this as a criticism, but one piece of feedback is it would be awesome if some of the pinterest examples of people showing the trends could show a more diversity of different kinds of bodies, since that would be a lot more relatable to a lot of watchers! I like that you make trends your own and use things you already have in your closet instead of overconsumption.

hot take!! unpopular opinion!!!! I actually think Emily's outfits are really fun to look at. I've never watched the show bc I didn't want to get annoyed at its ignorant tone, but I've seen every yt channel reacting to the fashion bc I love looking at it. no-one I've seen shares this opinion, but I love when fashion is just a fun, untrendy mess. I've only found pants my size at the thrift store once... it's always too short lmao. I don't even bother looking anymore, I just skip the pants section entirely. I've been opting for skirts instead, I love the denim maxi skirt vibe too!!

Oh I feel you on that one, the skirt section always feels like paradise whereas the jeans section is nothing but depressing I still give it a try but bringing 35 diff pairs of pants into the changing room only to find out none of them fit me is quite the frustrating experience haha
