+SkaTorch Unfortunate is, that the game is still in "pre-alpha" and yet you need to buy all of the heroes already. I still think they should sell it as a full-price title and include all the upcoming heroes (until Barbarian) at release. We can talk about DLCs after that, of course.

RIP DunDef 2. When the buff beam was introduced in the last game, every new map and challenge rode upon the fact that the buff beam existed. There's no turning back now.

+Mark S yeah, buff beam was totally unneeded :/ reflect beams are pretty awesome anyways, the rest of her kit seemed interesting but i'm assuming she'll just be "build buff beams everywhere, maybe some reflect, screw the rest" would be awesome if somehow that wouldnt be the case, but i can't imagine buff beams being between either useless or too important :/

+Tomas Seph Sure, that's how EV started in Dungeon Defenders 1. I had many hours in the first one. Trust me when I say, EVERY winning build was including buff beams by the end when it came to the tougher content and newer maps. New characters are cool, but the buff beam is a bad addition IMO.

Mark S the same as the boost aura currently. Beam works different now, so it won't be as op as it was in dd1. And yes, mainstream builds will always include it because, well, minstream builds are.. mainstream. Because they're lazy builds. What matters in the end is how satisfying it is to play the content with any hero, any build (that makes sense, ofc).

+Tomas Seph Well there's a difference between mainstream and endgame. In DD1 there wasn't a choice. Regardless, I'm looking to the future. While my comment was more sarcastic, it was very true in DD1. I don't wanna see that happen here, but I have my doubts. Look at the direction the game is already going/has gone in it's short life time of being "released". Floating number damage is already spam-central. The attack speed of weapons is already super high. The list goes on. The number inflation will get out of hand, and balance of content and "choice" starts fleeting from the game, and so on and so forth. Obviously this becomes more of an issue for those that wanna play the game for more than just a casual, fun time, but it's the longevity of the game that I'm getting at here.

It's actually is pretty cool that those nodes are connected. Reflect Beam was a bit useless in DD1. Honeslty, I wish it costed 0 Defence Unit.

+Dungeon Defenders Any chance for a Level-wipe? With the new heroes and revamps to both the heroes as well as the strategic aspect of the game I think hosting a vote for a level-wipe wouldn't be all that bad, or at least worth considering together with the community. A full wipe would probably be a bit much by now though (and unecessary since it's not a technical reason/issue this time around). Of course - no need to respond to this comment since, well, publically discussing and announcing anything on KZbin might not be the way to go(unless it's not a secret) but please keep an open mind about it. :)

This looks cool. Her DPS action looks fun. Those reflect walls would have come in handy against the Fire Mages. As a long time player, it's cool to see the DD1 characters returning; I am less excited to see the buff beam returning. As they learned with the buff aura, it's hard to balance. It's either too strong to ignore or it's so weak no one bothers. Lest we forget the lessons of DDE, when you add something so imbalanced it is hard to remove without protest. I'm assuming her introduction will lead to clusters of buffed archers instead of the current clusters of archers. I would rather see more emphasis on combos. I really enjoy shocking, freeze shattering, and setting minions on fire. All that said, I will get this character and see how it works out.

last time i tried it the focus was much more on player dmg. the towers i placed did very little dmg but i always pref. the "tower defense" part of the game. is it still very "player dmg" focused?

+Jhazzrun You can go full tower defense if you want. Obviously it will always be more optimal to have a damage builder, defense builder, and DPS character, but I can clear NM3 with just one hybrid Abyss Lord.

+Jhazzrun Not really, player damage is useful and makes the waves go quicker (and is essentially required for getting top gear) but once your builders have top gear, the only mobs you have to worry about are the diggers, malthius and his minis, and large air waves (some characters are better against air vs others)

The Abyss Lord was (and still is) a completely and utterly overpowered character compared to the basic characters, yet EV2 doesn't seem to follow that Pay2Win, however as the servers are currently down I cannot try that for real. The projectile shield looks like a must-have game-changer, as it will completely eliminate the issue with ranged enemies outranging your turrets. Not sure how the other abilities will perform, but my guess is that EV2 will be more of a rival for the dps-Huntress than an actually defense builder.

The game is so much less fun playing solo, seen there is no party system to fix you with random people. 99% of the time you will get an empty level, playing solo. I really hope they will fix this before the game come out. Just unplayable as a solo player :(

Shuizid The wife of a ex-worker of Trendy founded wildcard and they sued wildcard because of it and claimed they would steal the customers and workers from them. And they forced him via contract not to not work for some years in the games industry after he left trendy (which is an really asshole thing to do) and they practically have no evidence that he did. They originaly wanted 400$ million from wildcard because of that... Trendy is known for harassing their workers mentaly and sexualy as well and forcing them to stay because they would not be able to work for many years because of their wierd contracts. Thats also the reason so many people left Trendy. If you still think im a little whiner because i know they threat their workers like shit then go on.

Shuizid It was all over the news and not only once, so there is enough proof of that, yes. Well imagine you are an artist, yes? and you work for company x and your contract says, if you leave the company you are not allowed to work as artist in any other company for 3 years... that pretty much prevents you from leaving the job right? Its not easy to get a job as designer if you only have qualifications as an artist, not everyone can say "fuck it i leave and do this other thing instead". (and that is exactly what they do) And that is the reason why trendy sued wildcard even tho it is the company of his wife and not his own. (they should have sued against the guy instead, but nooo greed and wierd american rules allow them to just sue them) There was even this news report once from a guy that worked at trendy he was so scared of beeing fired, he didnt even ask to get free because a family member died and he missed the funeral because of it. Thats how Trendy treats their workers.
