Please invest in a high quality hitch lock for Terry. It would break your hearts and mine if she were stolen. If you have a cell signal at your property, invest in a security system. We also have a mountain property. Thieves broke in and stole thousands of dollars worth of equipment. I got jetpack hotspots from Verizon and RING cameras. We set them up on a Sunday and headed back to house in the burbs. Before we got home, the thieves were already on the property. Through our new Ring cameras we saw a strange truck drive into view, pulling OUR utility trailer! I called the sheriff, who headed out to our ranch. We turned around and headed back up. Meantime we watched the thieves filling their truck and our trailer with our things. We now have a good hitch lock on our trailers, and the one they tried to steal is parked in view of one of the Ring cameras. The sheriff caught the thieves a short distance outside our gate. Those Ring cameras saved us at least $15,000 that day!
@bentnickel74874 жыл бұрын
Patti, very interested in these RING cameras. Do you have to be on a Verizon plan?
@pattimessenger62144 жыл бұрын
Bent Nickel You don’t have to be on Verizon. Any cell carrier will do, but you want a good, strong signal. We chose Verizon because for YEARS, they were the only carrier that had a signal that reached our ranch. They have been good and reliable so we have stuck with them. If Trent & Allie have cell service at their property, I would suggest they stick with their carrier as long as they have a good signal there. If they don’t have a good signal, they should ask the neighbors who they use. They may need to place a signal boosting antenna at a higher elevation than their tiny home. Safety is such a critical issue. You tend to injure yourself when working on remote properties. You are using equipment you aren’t that familiar with, exhausted from the thinner air at the higher elevation, walking on extremely uneven ground and subject to tripping and falling. You need to be able to call for help if necessary. In fact, for my husband’s last birthday I bought him a new Apple Watch. The newer ones have a feature that detects if you fall. It is set up to notify me if he falls, and to call 911. We have owned our ranch for 20 years now. The first year, my hubby fell off a ladder and broke his back. He has cut across the top of his foot on one occasion, and sliced across the front of his shin bone on another occasion. We have been blessed to not be bitten by a rattlesnake, but they are common around here. Good communication may save your life. As for the RIng cameras, they have been a huge blessing to us. We can see vehicles coming down the drive, and talk to people through the cameras. While we are at the ranch we can see what is happening at home. This gives us peace of mind, at an affordable price.
@bentnickel74874 жыл бұрын
@@pattimessenger6214 Wow, that's exactly what I'm looking for, no matter the price. You can't put a price on peace of mind or a good night's rest. Thank you, so much.

Bent Nickel: Fantastic! I hope it works well for you.
@pattimessenger62144 жыл бұрын
@@bentnickel7487 You need a good WiFi connection for your Ring cameras and doorbells. At our ranch, DSL isn’t available, so we use the Verizon jet packs. At our home in the burbs, we have high speed internet through AT&T. And those cameras connect with that. Also, Ring sells little solar panels to power your camera. We have used ours with the solar panels since 2017 and they are fantastic!

Your grandmother's reaction to your wedding never gets old. I smile every single time. She is amazing and so sweet and caring. I'm filled with joy when I see her. Protect her at all costs! My grandmother used to buy the large tins of butter cookies. It's so nostalgic for me to see them. She's recovering right now in the hospital after being in the ICU (not covid but blood pressure spike) Unfortunately we cannot visit and haven't seen her for over 7 months. It's been super hard, she practically raised me from age 0-5. Luckily we can call the nurses who help us connect with her. She had her 3rd stroke 4 years ago which left her blind in both eyes and her quality of life definitely dropped since. Don't forget our elders, honor them, respect them, give them as much love as you can.

Just a bit of advice for your black tank smelly problem, get you some "Happy Camper" for your tanks. I promise you that you will not regret it. It is like Rid-X for your black tank. I also put some in my gray tank so it can break down any hair or food that gets in there...bc that stuff can make your gray tank smell just as bad as your black tank. Congrats on your marriage and your upcoming adventure.

Hi Trent and Allie, I've been watching your channel forever. Finally have something of value to add. Trent, the secret to greasy hands is olive oil! You splash a bit on hands when they are dry and then rub it in as if you were washing with soap. Then wash with dish soap. All the olive oil comes off with the grease and your hands will feel awesome afterwards. Not like the grease soap with sand it in it. Love your channel, it's the only one I look forward to.

17:24 Putting on larger tyres. Nice idea, but it will affect your drive ratios (like shifting into a higher gear), reducing the torque available at the road. Your Speedometer speed indications will be out of whack and unless you have your speedo recalibrated you will surely rack up speeding tickets - so be warned and be super careful about that.

Gosh, it’s so entertaining listening to the two of you share from your excretory exploits! Thank you so much, and make sure you give frequent updates on your fascinating flushables.

trent ....when the constructions over....everywhere...you are such a busy guy, consider doing short training sessions via Patreon on 'fixes' on so many things from the truck, Terry etc., etc.....your talents are seemingly endless and you could help so many people build thier own skills. You guys are a total inspiration. Good luck with the mountain home and everything you do. SIMPLY AMAZING. Bless you both...namasteX

I have thin skin and an excitable little dog with razor claws so am well acquainted with bleeding all over stuff, then I discovered the spray bandage product, works most excellently /grin Have a great day and thx for video.

I wish I was nearby to help with your efforts to build you castle. Dude, you’re absolutely a real bad ass. We have both spent a lot of our lives learning and fixing. Just like the Dirty Jobs guy. Keep it real and enjoy your life. Your choice of bride is priceless! Oh yeah, I really love your Grand Ma. Thank for the videos!!!!

just a sidebar question for your next Q&A: being busy with the terry and the new property, what's the plan for Pamela Vanderson post covid? what if a vaccine for covid is found within the next couple of months and what if it takes more than a year? Cheers!

So great that Trent is so handy! He looks like he's in his element whenever he's fixing or making something! So exciting to see how much progress you've made on Terry. Almost done! Woohoo!

My son is a master mechanic at a car dealership. When he was younger I told him I wanted him to get into computers. He said, "mom cars are computers." 😆😆

Trent, before you work on the truck next time, rub liquid soap (dawn) on your hands and arms. Let it dry and go. When it 's time to clean up apply soap as normal and wash it all away. Learned from an old mechanic back in the 70s.

Hey Trent - instead of 4 of those small, circular vents, why not go for 1 4 or 5 inch square vent. Wouldn't that allow for much larger airflow to cool your underneath electronics?

Was thinking the same.

I was also wondering that I was expecting something like a 4" x 6" grill and he pulls out those small button grills. After all they are hidden under the table anyway.

As an old hippie chick who must wear a Medic alert bracelet due to being fragile AF, it’s a wonderful thing. It’s saved me three times when I fell after losing conscienceness. But rest assured, I’ve got DECADES on Trent so he doesn’t need one, probably will never need one hopefully. lol All that’s left is stocking Terry with food and toilet seal and moving to the mountains, right? Annie in TN 💕

Good episode! If no one has mentioned this, you really need a tub of Happy Camper (on Amazon) for your black tank...just be sure to follow the directions. It doesn't have any harmful chemicals and liquefies the waste which means you can get a truly empty tank and avoid the dreaded "poop pyramid." The enzymes in it keep the smell down and doesn't mask them with gross chemical smells. I use it in my 5th wheel (and previous trailers too). Can't wait to see what's next!
